CPAP Seal Gel Cushion
CPAP Seal Gel Cushion
Has anyone tried this product? I can't recall anyone here telling about their experience with it. If you have, how do you rate it?

Re: CPAP Seal Gel Cushion
I am curious enough (and God knows I am having problems with leaks) that I just ordered it.
Of course I will report here how it works.

Yeah there were a few who tried it maybe 4 months ago or so. Didn't seem to work well for them at all.
I'll see if I can find the threads.
Okay -- think I found it -- try this thread: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=60078&st=0&sk=t&sd= ... el+cushion

Thanks for your help Tip. I think I will pass on this product. I should have a PAD A CHEEK mask liner arriving in the mail today. Maybe it will do the trick.

Hmm very tempting but I'm a newbie (few days only since I've been wearing cpap) so I feel I need to 'earn my stripes' first - well, and see if this red mark on my nose bridge is a beginners thing or if it will get worse. Thanks for the info!

Re: CPAP Seal Gel Cushion
I posted on the thread back in February. I've continued to try it from time to time with different masks, but I haven't found any leaky mask that was sealed up by this gel cushion.
However, for the tenderness on the bridge of the nose, this helped me:

Thanks M.D. - looks good. But is the extra layer not an 'extra burden'? I mean the wieght of the nasal pad (albeit minimal I'm sure) doesn't annoy you? And sure it doesn't take up 'breathing space' of the nasal mask?
Re: CPAP Seal Gel Cushion
Really informative thread! We might try to work a reference to this one into a Forum post about where to buy cushions next week.

I was just wondering the same thing (in fact I asked the question in another thread) about the red mark on the bridge of my nose. it hurts too. might look at this nasal soft cpap cushion but first i better make sure i can put up with the nasal mask (my mouth keeps opening causing air to leak out and me to stop breathing until I wake and close my mouth - first night at home. Was fine in hospital)
Good to know the problem is common

Re: CPAP Seal Gel Cushion
I recently tried this cushion after watching their promotional videos. It was an unsatisfactory and expensive experience. Has anybody else had a problem with the seal or with the company?

One tends to wonder how they are stll in business; it doesn't seem that there is much repeat sales.
I did not try this product, but did the Gecko pad--a similar product, with the same letdown!
I donated it to a vet, who couldn't use it either.

Re: CPAP Seal Gel Cushion
My advice-don't go near them!
I have just finalised a most unpleasant exchange of emails with these people who seemed determined to (a) hold me responsible because their product didn't work and (b) find any excuse to either deny or minimise the amount of refund.
The seal not only leaked with raucous fluttering noises but it also caused unpleasant skin irritation for the 2 week period that I persevered with it on their advice.
The vendors initially told me to reverse the seal which I did with no success, then they told me to drill holes through the seal to let the air out. Try drilling holes in a gel! In any case the idea is to keep the pressure in, otherwise the system is not achieving its intended purpose.
When I returned it they initially told me that Paypal wouldn't allow them to make a refund because I took so long to return it (I sent it back 14 days after receipt). Then they told me that it would cost between USD $19.95 and USD $55.00 to process a refund. I was also criticised for trimming it (as per their instructions) to clear my eyes then returning it for a refund.
As a last resort they tried to charge me for Paypal fees and shipping which I had paid on purchase.
It may be a series of misunderstandings but every time I contacted them about return and refund, I received combative and accusative responses.
In the end I was refunded the purchase price less 15%, but the experience was most unpleasant in every aspect.
And it cost more than $55.00 in postage and "disposal" fees, not to mention 2 weeks of mostly lost sleep. I started out hoping to reduce the discomfort of a Mirage Quattro mask but after the gel seal it feels like luxury.
