My frustration is that I don't feel like I'm sleeping well, and I'm suffering from aerophagia. I wake up 3 or 4 times each night with serious stomach bloat. I don't know if I'm not sleeping well because of apneas or because of the aerophagia. I've lost almost 30 pounds since my last sleep study (my BMI is now 24.6, so I'm no longer "overweight" ). That might have something to do with why my aerophagia is getting worse.

Is there any information that can be gained from looking at the detailed IPAP/EPAP and average pressure data? I recently upped the EPAP a little to see if it would help me to sleep better, and I feel a little worse, and the average pressure and number of pressure spikes went up. I don't know if that is because of apneas, or increased centrals. I upped the EPAP because it had been at the machine minimum (to try to help with the aerophagia), and I thought that I might not be sleeping well because of apneas.

And, before anybody asks, before I upped the EPAP I was using my machine at the prescribed pressures.

Hi ReluctantCpapUser
Have you been diagnosed with GERD (or worse Silent Gerd). What you are describing sort of fits the bill.

If you haven't been checked for GERD do so asap. The weight loss is consistent with some worsening symptoms.
Mainly the ease of breeching the entry into the stomach from the air pressure.

DSM
xPAP and Quattro std mask (plus a pad-a-cheek anti-leak strap)

I believe the S9 version will record waveforms. Confirmation/correction from an S9 expert appreciated. Waveform info is enormously more useful than simple event counts.

I have observed that most of the people face the problem of the depression, only because they always worried about their weight and health. So just take steps to make the solution and don't worry.

Wow! Leith, I know you mean well, and you are right, but I don't think it comes off quite how you intended.

The fact is most of us have to struggle to get good solid sleep. It can be hard, frustrating and depressing. So, it's appropriate to acknowledge that the reasons are both real and normal. But by working past them, you can get to a better night of sleep, feel much better (mentally and physically), and regain control of your life.

It says the same thing, but adds the "I can understand how you feel" into the message. Like I say, your post is spot on. Just adding that extra twist would help the original poster. But thank you for helping the original poster. No, I really mean that. By reaching out and helping one another, we make this a very powerful and helpful forum. And that's just what you did.

John, you are a truly kind soul.
Leith's posts are so strange that I'm beginning to wonder if someone is running an experiment on our forum, using an up to date "ELIZA" to see which responses those two liners will elicit.
