Can you take a look at my resscan files?
Can you take a look at my resscan files?
Hey guys,
I've been using CPAP on/off since May, but have not had *any* improvement.
I was diagnosed with UARS. Unfortunately I cannot afford to see my sleep specialist until the end of the year.
Would anybody be willing to have a look at my data and help me out? I use an s9 and can zip up the sdcard contents if anybody can
Cheers!

Xsara,
Download ResScan (do a user search for Uncle Bob and look in his signature) and import the data yourself and then get screen examples of your summary and screens of and the events and 1-minute flow sections. We need to look at how many apneas you are having, how long they are, and what your flow pattern looks like when your sleeping normally. We also need to see the leak information on the summary.

You can use Photobucket.com or something similar to post the images.

Re: Can you take a look at my resscan files?
If you have trouble using the software this might help.
http://montfordhouse.com/cpap/resscan_tutorial/
If you don't know how to post your reports this is how I do it.
Open the image to full size so it is easily read.
I use Vista snipping tool to create a screen shot and crop the image at the same time.
Prt/scr key will also take a screen shot if using XP. If laptop is used sometimes the Fn key has to be pushed at the same time as the prt/scr key
I think windows 7 Home Premium has the snipping tool, Basic may not.
Once the screen shot is created save it in jpg format.
Upload the image to a host site. I use Photobucket it is free, there are others.
Once the image is uploaded then copy the ENTIRE IMG address. Be sure to include the opening and closing IMG in brackets. Paste that copied address into a post here.
Use the preview button. If you can't see the image try again because if you can't see it we can't.

The forum seems to crop the images, but if you drag them to a new window you can see the full width.
I should add, my rx was for 6-14, however I have narrowed that range.

Part of the problem is that CPAP is not a part-time therapy. Until you are using CPAP all the time you are asleep, it may be difficult to feel any improvement.xsara wrote:Hey guys,

Re: Can you take a look at my resscan files?
I can see all of your images just fine.
Looks really good on paper. Some of those centrals could be sleep onset centrals or turn over in the bed centrals. A few minor leak spikes but not enough to hurt therapy.
Now as far as not feeling any improvement?..... The numbers are great but the UARS diagnosis messes with things.
Are you having any fragmented sleep? Wake often? What meds might you be taking? Anything else that could impact how you feel? Pain, bed comfort?
How much of the time have you been "off" therapy? On again/off again doesn't work. Must be "on" all the time.
Often even under the best of circumstances with the best of numbers and 100% On usage it can take a months to see a gradual improvement.
Also what is "not improved"? Fatigue or being sleepy during the day? Or both?

by 'on/off' I mean using it through the entire night. I have used the machine every night since I have had it. I've been through periods where I only got a few hours out of the machine, but recently have been getting through the night.

I sleep solidly throughout the night, I do not arouse when my daughter cries and my wife always complains the next day that I don't get up (bit hard if I don't even wake to hear her!)
From memory my sleep doc said I slept 44% of the night in slow wave sleep.
As above, I have used cpap daily, although I have had some days where I only spent a few hours hooked up.
Persistent problems: Awaking feeling like I haven't slept, requiring 10-11 hours sleep, poor cognitive function, etc. I am not on any medication, however a year ago I weaned myself from unsuccessful hormone therapy.
Thanks

Re: Can you take a look at my resscan files?
Overall, your picture looks OK to me except that I would pay attention to the CAI value. The more the CAI value exceeds the OAI in the Stats and is above 5, and the more the CAI value exceeds 50% of the AHI the more your case could become a CSAS.
