New mask suggestions

Post by Sith » Mon Aug 01, 2011 1:26 pm

Hello all,

Have been having serious issues getting used to my mask. I am on day 5 of therapy and have not been able to make it through the night with out issues. Mask leaks galore. I sleep on my side/stomach and my current mask leaks from the right side of my nose into my eye. It wakes me up and then I readjust and deal with this again in 2 hours. I have a relatively low pressure of 6. AHI was 51 during sleep study.

Need help selecting a new mask, going Wed to get it.

Was looking at the Swift FX and the Breeze.

Thanks,
Sith

I'm a stomach sleeper and have definitely found the nasal pillows tolerate being smooshed into the pillow better than others. I use both the Swift FX for Her and Swift LT. The LT is a little more firm, so doesn't move around quite as much, but my leakage rate with both is pretty low.

Good Luck and Cheers,
xena

I am a side sleeper and have very few issues with my Swift Nasal Pillows. I have tried nasal masks and full face masks and they did not work for me. I toss and turn during the night. I may have to adjust straps on my nasal pillows, but it doesn't interfere with me getting back to sleep.

Good luck!

Try the nasal pillows. I'm a side sleeper and have very few leaks. BTW, I'm a new user also - almost a month now. I wake up occasionally to fix or adjust something, but go right back to sleep. It's all part of getting use to whatever mask you choose... not a whole lot of fun!

Hi There--I am a side sleeper. I have both the Swift FX for Her and Swift LT for her. My favorite is the Swift LT for her---only because the FX gives me leaks since I sleep from side to side. I can't seem to get it not to leak so I only have been using the Swift LT for her --size small nasal pillows and I use the PAD A CHEEK pads to eliminate the side strap marks, as well as matching hose cover ------enjoy!!!

What is the his and her stuff from swift ex? If I accidently get a "her", will the mask work? What if I am transgender? Will the mask be confused and not work? Is the mask being sensitive to my needs, or is the mask homo-phobic?

It will surely work unless you have a huge head. The head gear for the "for her" products is just a wee bit smaller and instead of a large nasal pillow we get the XS. And if you like cross dressing the more feminine color will surely appeal to you.
