S9 Basic Sleep Panel Clarification

Post by 91rock » Wed Jul 27, 2011 4:56 pm

There is the screen that shows the leak rate, AHI and then breaks this down to AI and CI. My question has to do with the CI. For example if the AHI = 3 and the AI is 2.5 and the CI is 2.2, does the CI represent central apneas that I am having? If yes, does that mean that the difference of .3 are obstructive apneas? what does the missing .5 represent? Can you tell me where I can find this type of information? thank you

Yes, at least within the limits of your machines ability to correctly identify central apnea.

Yes. If your leak rate is high enough you may also have some unknown apneas, and I think they get lumped in with the OAs.
what does the missing .5 represent?
Hypopneas.
