We never get more than 5-6 months out of our UMFF and we're on our 4th month now with rising AHI, so I'm wondering if we're due for a new mask soon. Keep us posted.
Hi Dori. I lost 20 lbs on a low carb diet, eating more meats, eggs and cheese, protein, drank A LOT of water 60-70 oz/day and cut out sweets and fast food. I pretty much cut out bread, rice, potatoes, chips, cookies, beans, pasta, cereal etc. Didn't exercise much except for some stretching. I haven't felt tired even though I have been sleeping less. I didn't replace my mask because I hadn't met my deductible and it would cost a fortune, so I waited, too long. I'm getting a new mask, headgear, hose and filter for something like $150 which isn't too bad.

My higher numbers correlate in time exactly with the weight loss - there is really no question that is what caused it, but I have felt better, not worse lately. I don't know if 7 is so terrible I thought 5.0 or less was considered "therapy"

Well, last night AHI 13.5 almost continuous OA's. No leaks. I am going to switch back to Quattro mask. At this point I may be better off without CPAP. I also woke with bad aerophagia, perhaps the pressure was too high although it did rise much to fight off the OA's.

Switch to Quattro. AHI 2.4 for 6 hours, best night I've had in weeks. was 13.5 the previous night with the Ultra Mirage. WHY? Defective mask?

There was one period of AHI cluster where the pressure rose to 13 cm and seem to handle it.
