Unrelated to CPAP (I am finishing my first month), I have had a terrible drip from my right nostril since the late winter. My ENT perscribed Aestepro which helps clear up my left nostril but the right nostril still drips. The aestepro also makes me sneeze. The ENT has no explanation for any of this. I also use a netipot every night but that has also failed to stop the drip.
I have used collodial silver (in a nebulizer) for the past few years to help clear up colds and bronchial infections. Works like a charm and I haven't taken antibiotics in 3 years. I'm wondering if I could put collodial silver in my humidifier and if that would help at all with the dripping nose.
Nose Drip and Collodial Silver
Re: Nose Drip and Collodial Silver
As a long time cpapper I live with the frequent nose drip and sneezing. Maybe just part of the cpap use. However I have found a new product that helps immensely to prevent the nightly dry mouth...ACT for dry mouth rinse.
Re: Nose Drip and Collodial Silver
Please don't put anything in your xpap humidifyer except distilled water.
Colloidal silver can cause a condition called argyria. Please visit the Mayo Clinics website for some more information.

Re: Nose Drip and Collodial Silver
The humidifier would not deliver the colloidal silver to your mask, as all it's doing is evaporating water. So all you'd get is silver build-up in the chamber.
Meanwhile, please DO read up on what the silver can be doing to you. I'm sure you're very careful with it, but it can be NASTY stuff - a lot worse than antibiotics over time =(

Re: Nose Drip and Collodial Silver
I don't want to start an online argument but colodial silver does not cause argyria. That was debunked years ago and was a hoax. I use lots of it every year and I am not blue at all. What collodial silver has allowed me to do is to live antibiotic free and be in charge of my own health. That's why the AMA hates is.HerbyPeg wrote: Colloidal silver can cause a condition called argyria. Please visit the Mayo Clinics website for some more information.
I also have stopped using clorine in my swimming pool and jacuzzi, replacing that deadly chemical with collodial silver. Again, not something that the big chemical companies want to hear.

Thanks for the answer. I will not put it into the humidifier.TalonNYC wrote:The humidifier would not deliver the colloidal silver to your mask, as all it's doing is evaporating water. So all you'd get is silver build-up in the chamber.

As for using collodial silver, please don't be fooled by the big medical and chemical companies that want to control your life and pocket book.
Thank you.

Who to believe?
nedrob or Mayo Clinic ... nedrob or mayo Clinic?
Mayo Clinic is one of the most trusted sources in the medical community.
U.S. News & World report:
"With especially strong scores in 15 specialties, Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, was named once again to the Best Hospitals Honor Roll. Mayo Clinic is ranked nationally in 16 adult and 10 pediatric specialties."
From the Mayo Clinic website:
"Manufacturers of colloidal silver products often claim that they are cure-alls, boosting your immune system, fighting bacteria and viruses, and treating cancer, HIV/AIDS, shingles, herpes, eye ailments and prostatitis. However, no sound scientific studies to evaluate these health claims have been published in reputable medical journals. In fact, the Food and Drug Administration has taken action against some manufacturers of colloidal silver products for making unproven health claims."
