Hmm, Growing up in Salinas, I always considered that the "Monterey Bay area" and SF bay was "THE Bay Area".

People up around Humboldt Bay might even think they are the "north bay area". So I guess I'll have to be more precise.

I know it's a far drive, but we'll welcome people from the North part of the Monterey Bay or even Humboldt too

Janknitz in Santa Rosa where we've had Salinas weather all summer! Brrrrr!

Hi Everyone,

I must have spent Sunday in an alternate universe. Just before 5 when my wife reminded me the 9ers were playing, I realized I needed to look at my calendar. Wow, I missed the meeting entirely!

Who showed up? Was it wonderful? Can we do it again for those with a "for rent" sign on their forehead?

Kinda embarrassed

No problem Mr. Capers--I am a "date challenged" individual as well.

There were threee of us and one supportive spouse. It was very nice and helpful to meet and we hope to do it again. Maybe we can get the word out to those who aren't on this forum, too.

One person brought her charts for some problem-solving. Not sure we were all that much help, though. But it would be great to have the peer support face to face on a more frequent basis as well as online. I have to say that it is the first time I ever met others who are more knowledgeble about their therapy than the "I don't know the name of my machine or mask and I hardly ever use it" response I get from most people who have CPAP.

I also attended, and greatly appreciated the camaraderie. Sleep quality better last night, after the educated suggestions and prompts for remembering what my sleep doc had advised. Janknitz brought a CPAP mask and had it on the table in a clear plastic bag--that's how I recognized the other three folks in the busy coffee house!

How about if we plan another get together before the holiday craziness--say Sunday, October 24? Same place, Aroma Roasters, 2PM?

Will somebody get me up from my nap so I can be there?

How about exchanging our emails so we can ding each other a day or two before?

Can you tell me a bit more about pediatric apnea? My 3 month old nephew snores ... pretty loudly. Practically every member in my family most likely has SA, they're in denial. My brother (nephew's dad) is a severe case, though stubborn about not wanted to be tied to his cpap machine.

I was looking for a local Dr. who can help me manage my 2 and half year old daughter w/ pediatric apnea instead of always having to drive down to stanford.

I use the internal mouthpiece to help keep the lower jaw closed and shifted forward while I use my APAP. Chinstraps are not my bag.

The hardest part I am having problems with it appears is managing the micro-climate's we live in and there constantly changing variations especially since we don't have AC.

Just got back from Stanford Children's where Dr. Koltai did a great job taking my daughter's tonsils and adenoids out. We spent the night just to be safe and keep her hydrated. Turned out to be a good idea. You wouldn't even know she had surgery today by her personality. I can't tell you how great it was to watch her oximeter readings all night hover at 99 and 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and that's with an inflamed airway. No doubt as she gets older that jaw is still an issue. I can't wait to get my daughter back not the one who is supposedly having the terrible 2's.

Sorry to have missed you all on Sunday but I will be there next time for sure. You all could always come down to Marin?

Now who wants some ice cream?

Hey North Bay Area CPAPers, I need your help. I'm in Napa/Sonoma area on vacation and my 14 year old CPAP just died. I can survive, but my wife can't sleep and that means its no vacation. Can I get the names of some of your CPAP providers in the Northy Bay Area so I can try getting a replacement.

I recommend Sleep quest down by Stanford. They are the best. I still use them even though I live in Florida.
