Eyelid twitching
My left eyelid has been twitching on and off for days. At first I thought it was due to caffeine, although I hadn't increased my consumption. But it happens at times even when I haven't had caffeine. Anyone know what I can do to get rid of this annoying symptom?

Yes. Wait for it to disappear.SleepingUgly wrote: Anyone know what I can do to get rid of this annoying symptom?

Well... they say watched pot never boils - so don't concentrate too much on the waiting. On the other hand, "they" obviously didn't put water in a pot and go to take a peek at their favorite internet site only to discover the pot had turned a warped black 2 hours later.Guest wrote:Yes. I've had that eyelid twitch come and go and come an go since adolescence - if not earlier. It goes away for long time, come back for a short one, then disappears.
I agree with guest.

And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.

SleepingUgly..(man, I hate to type that),nobody sleeps ugly! I understand your malady. It happens frequently to me whenever a bit of stress enters my life. Truly an annoyance. I go look in the mirror and it doesn't eve show but the triggering is still there.. It usually goes away after a day or so. Hope yours does too. Try to message it , as I'm sure you already have.

Try eating a banana - a doctor friend of mine suggested this and it has worked for me in the past

Re: Eyelid twitching
This has only happened to me with allergies. I haven't had it for years.
On the other hand, in high school, I had a muscle spasm that would affect one whole side of my neck and that half of my face.
It felt like an electric shock-and I was grimacing for about a minute. It happened randomly about once a week or so.
Horrible--apparently I outgrew it.

Magnesium helps eye twitches? I take 400mg of magnesium oxide at night...

Yes, without fail whenever my eyelid twitches it is because I have back off of my mg protocol. Same with RLS and PLM. I have read that mg oxide is poorly absorbed. PM me and I can send you some info.SleepingUgly wrote:Magnesium helps eye twitches? I take 400mg of magnesium oxide at night...

If I spray dimetapp into my nose I notice my eye lids twitch. The spray must clear the link between the nose and the eye and the pressure affects the eye.

Mg helps "smooth out" neuro-muscular activity (assuming you are running low).SleepingUgly wrote:Magnesium helps eye twitches?

Re: Eyelid twitching
One of my eyelids usually starts twitching when I'm under prolonged stress. I just wait it out and hope no one notices.
If it's any help, apparently this is a very old annoyance, and not limited to humans:
It usually happens to my upper eyelid, but Scrat's lower left eyelid is the one that expresses the stress. (To make the picture bigger, you can hold down the Ctrl key and simultaneously scroll the wheel on your mouse until it's the right size).

And, finally, a frozen shot of it happening:

Re: Eyelid twitching
Try B12. It has helped me in the past. I had a long bout when I was pregnant. It stopped as soon as I delivered! Think I was nervous????????

That's a sure sign of alien mind control rays. Try a double thickness aluminum foil hat.
