This is Bear. He's 8 years old and suffers from PLMD during REM sleep, accompanied by barking. He just might be the world's laziest dog, but he's also pretty goofy at times. Like most pictures on the internet, this one is about 3 years old and he's grayed quite a bit since then.

Yes, Whenever I take him for a walk, strangers will take one look at him, then say to me "like father, like son"

My avatar is a picture of my 2 dogs, Rocky and Rosie.

In February, 2008 I had to make the painful decisions to say goodbye to my 2 elderly dogs 17 days apart. A quick trip to one of the area shelters a week after Moosie and I said goodbye led to Rosie coming to live with me. She was 4 years old at the time, 81 lbs - 31 lbs overweight! - and had been abandoned in a foreclosed house. Over the next Labor Day weekend, Rosie selected Rocky to come live with us and be her companion. He was 2, and had been found after a long period as a stray. After almost 2 weeks in the shelter he was up to 53 lbs - he's 75 lean lbs today. He's also OCBFD - Obsessive Compulsive Ball Fetch Dog - so we spend lots of time at the community dog run.

Rocky is a mix of Black Lab and large hound, and Rosie is Black Lab and Border Collie. Rosie doesn't chase balls -- she herds Rocky as he chases his ball!

I'll quote what I wrote in a previous discussion of avatars. "This really is my motorcycle, a retirement gift to myself five years ago. The state of Idaho has a lot of pretty scenery and great drives and I like for people to know that. That's why this avatar, and the previous one of a historic bridge in the canyon, focus on what you can see by driving around the state. And, for some unknown reason unless its the fear of identity theft, I like to keep my identity somewhat hidden."

Mine is my African Grey. His name is Gizmo. I also have 3 other birds - an ecclectus and moluccan cockatoo and a lovebird. I have had all my birds since babies. They all have their own personalities. They make us laugh daily! They talk to us. They love cuddling just as much as any dog or cat. They have been part of our family for about 7 years now. Eventually when we own our own home, we will be adding 1 or 2 dogs to our family also!

Mine is a small screenshot of my internet spaceship (from a video game called "EVE Online") burning up after getting nearly destroyed in some player-vs-player fighting...

Mine is my dog Shadow. This is her picture that was on Pet Finders from about 4 yrs ago. She was 4-5 when I rescued her from the Humane Society. She is now about 9 and was diagnosed in March with Type 2 Diabetes. She gets insulin twice a day, but the vet has yet to zero in on a correct dose as her sugar is still high when tested. Unfortunately within the last 3 weeks she has developed cataracts due to the Diabetes. She in now for the most part blind But she is a trooper and knows the house and stairs quite well. I just think she is depressed because she does not know what is happening to her. She also has a large tumor on her thigh, and a smaller one on her belly I know my time with her will not be much longer but I take it one day at a time with her and give her lots of love daily......

I took the butterfly picture at the Smithsonian Institute while visiting relatives several years ago when they had a special Live Butterflies exhibit. I'm pretty proud of the picture actually; it was taken when my Pentax digital SLR was still brand new. I don't get a chance to take as many pictures as I'd like to these days.

This is me, living my passion on my trusty steed Scarlet...logged nearly 15,000 miles on her last year with friends.

This was my original avatar, just don't have the heart to slay anymore. Ain't she pretty

Mine is a characature of me holding a lobster and a glass of wine that was drawn by a dear friend for the t-shirts made for everyone that attended my 40th b-day/Lobsterfest campout. She gave me the original artwork as a gift. Some websites don't capture the whole image and only show the face though. A http://www.snmdurbin.us/40th/40th.htmgroup photo was taken wearing the t-shirts.

Mine is a design I did using Corel Draw. I am a mechanical designer who likes to play around with Graphic design software when I get the chance. JABMAN has been my Internet name for over ten years now, I do use another one but only when jabman is taken. It stands for my initials and because I am a man though my wife and kids would probably argue that point.

Hi Everybody

My avatar is of a feisty little kitten, adventurous and full of life. Which is what I am aiming to get back to being

The picture of Toto which I put up temporarily, was just too sad to keep, so I changed back to my kitten. However, I think I should mention that I have watched all of Volume 2 of the Big Cat Diary, so you may understand my actions.
