My long awaited CPAP is coming to me on Friday. Any tips for the RT/DME gal???. Oh, you will all love this, the poor woman lives 2 miles away. She's going to ''love'' my close proximity to her! And she provided me her cell number.Oh boy!
I can see smiles on DME folks right about now!

I think you'll really like the 420E. that's what I've got. It's small, fairly quiet and easy to use. make sure you get a heated humifier for it. Probably will be the Fisher Paykel model if they don't have the new 420E with integrated humidifier since it is only available after 1-31.

What kind of mask are you getting. Insist on Mirage Activa if nasal, or the Swift or Breeze nasal pillows. You may need a chin strap with any of those.

I was assured by the DME/Rt that it came with the heated humidifier. I don't know how she got it before 1/31, but that's what she told me We'll see Friday. If not she can get me one after 1/31. We know how they are..based on comments on the board!

Cool, Gail! You know, I've got a feeling you and your RT are going to get along fine together. You have a such a good personality. I think she's gonna appreciate working with such an informed, "fun" client. Anybody that gives their cell phone number must be really willing to help. Just think! You all can both learn from each other as you run "next door" (almost!) to borrow a cup of sugar.

Yeah, I can hear the DME/RTs laughing even harder now, thinking about what their colleague is in for.

rested gal,

I hope your "feelings" regarding gailzee's RT are correct, but remember cell phones also have caller ID and voice mail. Gail, at least if you know where she lives you can stop by for that "cup of sugar" and then hit her with one of those "as long as I'm here's"

Hope all goes well!
Sincerely,
wading thru the muck of the sleep study/DME/Insurance money pit!

Hi rested gal and ''wading''

I just knew you both would get a kick of the DME/RT. I am sure I have her pegged before the poor soul climbs out of her car. Hope she doesn't trip in the snow on the way in. haha. In all seriousness, I told her to bring several types of masks, rattled of what you told me, mentioned the heated humidifcation she said yes. I asked if it was integrated she said hmmm, yes. So I'm sort of wondering...but nonetheless, I'm surprised it came fairly quickly to her, and she is coming promptly (of course time is money we do know this).

Thanks for your compliments, must be the med's mellowing me out Usually I don't receive too many compliments! haha.

I only became informed because of all your work, research and experiences. CPAP.com should vote you both an award or a discount or something..? Good idea? I think so!

Will keep you posted!
