Encosre Pro 2 Error: Cannot check database

Post by jbn3boys » Sun May 29, 2011 7:40 am

Has anyone else had this problem? I've been running Encore Pro 2 successfully for several months. This morning, when I try to open it, I get a pop up window that says "Could not check the database version". When I click on "OK", the program shuts down. I've tried restarting the computer, and that did not help. Any other ideas???

Encore Pro is a buggy piece of ^%$!! for a program.

I've had nothing but problems with it. Mine worked fine for six months and I got the same error. It will read the last nights data but won't show any of the days more than three days earlier. All of the data is in the SQL database so this is an application problem. I'm not sure if it has to due with the SD card getting full to a certain limit or if it is automatically trying to archive data. I'm going to uninstall it and re-install it again to see if I can get it working again.

If it weren't for me wanting to see my wave data I'd remove it from my system. More than half the time it doesn't show the wave data either. I have the viewer software and it works fine - (except that you can't install it from CD onto a Windows 7 system) Geeeze Respironics!

I don't have a clue why it would stop reading the database all of a sudden... if you figure it out please let me know.

In EP 1, I would try again when it happened.

Have you had any power interuptions with pc on? Could have another program interferring? Or using SQL?
Either way, I would do a scandisk then try again.

I am having the same problem, I uninstalled the program. Had to uninstall the SQL stuff also. I then installed the program again last night and it read my data fine. Got up this morning and I got the same error.

Well, when it happens, running a system restore back to before it failed might work, but that's an ugly solution.

An important tip when you uninstall and reinstall is to make sure you restart your computer between each step. It's amazing what shutting down and restarting your computer can do!
