Where to buy Resmed?

Post by oscar98 » Tue May 17, 2011 9:45 pm

I hope it's allowed to discuss this. If not maybe someone could send me a PM. I noticed that new/used S9's are not being sold on the auction site any longer and a quick search revealed the reason why. In the near future I'm wanting to upgrade to an Auto and I'm wondering if anyone knows any secrets as to where to find one at a great price. They used to go for around $500 for the humidifier and all on the auction site.

What was the reason why? The results of your search!

What I found said the Resmed got their panties in a wad over their products being sold for low prices on the auction site and made them remove them.

Problem solved. I just found a post mentioning the second wind site.

Hate to say it, but Resmed is seeming to be a pretty slimy outfit. I got the Liberty mask, had a terrible leak, and they just told me 'tough luck'. Since I already had the S9, went and bought a humidifier and right out of the box it had a fault and wouldn't run. Turns out the connections on the side were badly manufactured, so now I have to bear the expense of return shipping since Resmed won't stand by their products and support an exchange, dumping it all on the retailer. I would steer clear of Resmed products, as a rule. This is based solely on the company's behavior and unwillingness to stand behind their products.

No arguments. I don't like their protectivist tactics, either. However I wonder why it is you want another Resmed? If it's the software capability, I understand, and read no further. Theirs is currently the best. However I also have an Intellipap and I really can't tell the difference between the two machines with my eyes closed. And it costs about half of what the S9 Autoset costs. PR makes a very populer Auto machine, too, with all the bells and whistles and good software.

I looked there prior to buying my iPAP. Their price at the time was about the same as what our sponsors here were offering, so I decided to give them the business, so to speak. CPAP.com offers free shipping, too.

Yep, and there was one other ID with similar tone. It jostled a few of my brain cells also. Same crap, different ID.

So I've been had by Resmeduser's latest incarnation? I guess I'll have to add another name to my "ignore" list.

Maybe. Non registered and ResMed bashing. It is highly suspicious. No way to filter non registered except mentally not respond which is what I do.
There are ways to hide IP addresses so that "also posted as" does not show even with non registered IDs.
ResMed bashing and those tones are pretty counter productive any way and I just choose to move on to next post. I won't respond at all. Not worth my time.

From the sounds of things I missed out on some drama. (thankfully) I have enough drama in my life. haha

Thanks for all the advice. I may end up checking out other brands before it is over with, but I am very pleased with my S9. My husband has a crappy dataless S8 and he is really eying my S9 and I figured if I was in the market for a new one might as well make it an auto. Then we could use the S8 as a back-up/door stop.
