Morning Tears or Ache behind eyes?

Post by mle_ii » Wed May 18, 2011 2:43 pm

I'm curious if these might be symptoms of Apnea. I notice that most mornings after waking up my eyes tear up a lot. My eyes don't look or feel irritated and I'm not sad.

Also I get this tired feeling or ache near or behind my eyes. Feels like a pressure or weight pushing.

I would be more likely to blame the mask if you're wearing a mask. If you go to your profile and enter your equipment people will be better able to help you. The tearing might be the result of you being unused to the pressure of your XPAP machine. I doubt it's a symptom of sleep apnea, but more likely a result of treatment. Is it bothering you a great deal?

Sorry, haven't been diagnosed yet so no gear.

Tears don't bug me much other than wondering what's causing them. The ache behind the eyes bugs me though.

Sounds like how I feel when my allergies are acting up.

You have dry eyes ----the tearing up is the eyes trying to compensate for the dryness. Go buy some GenTeal Gel Drops, 2 drops in each eye at bedtime, if still tearing in the morning use agaidn. My eye doc told me I could use them up to 6 times per day.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

Due to dryness you can all do to remove aches by cleaning and much use of water. which is helpful in tears too. thanks for mine are fit

Are you wondering if this is a symptom of apnea or a side effect of CPAP?

I do tend to feel a bit "sinusy" after a CPAP session lately.

If your mask is leaking and blowing into your eyes, it will irritate them.

How old are you? Getting to be "that age" when all of the nasty new symptoms start appearing? I've got dry eyes now that I've crossed the 50 barrier.... my ASV use has increased it because the mask I use sometimes gets bumped too close too my eyeballs when I'm tossing and turning.
