Are those bands something that you buy already made or did you made it. I have read some people use the leg from a tight but I wonder how they manage that to stay in place the whole night without it to slide over the hair.I use the narrow headbands that are made not to slip

Last night I had a very bad night too because I tried to use a Quattro that makes a lot of leaks every time. I need to tight so much the lower straps that I had neck pain, I was wondering if the straps were going to cut my blood circulation to the brain
I sleep on my side, on my back, on my belly and I have neck problems; a chance I don't sleep on my head Things are already complicated enough .

Re: Headrest and teeth pain
I use it "as is" with no modifications.rosacer wrote:Thanks CollegeGirl. Do you use the Headrest as it is or did you modified it? Do you still use the Headrest, now with the mouth guard? I'm wondering if the Headrest modified (no blue head's part and plastic) produce the tooth pain.
As far as I remember I never grinded the teeth before CPAP, bummer
That would be very interesting to hear from the friends here who use the Headrest modified.
I didn't grind my teeth before CPAP either. I've seen a few people here speculate that it starts because when we train ourselves not to breathe through our mouth we teach ourselves to clench down as tightly as possible which leads to tooth grinding. Makes sense to me.

Re: Headrest and teeth pain
In this area "pantyhose" tights are expensive, and since I don't wear them I don't have "old" legs to cut off. That is when I went on a search for a cheaper alternative. The ones I use are from store bought headbands. For along time I used the cheapest ones I could find and they were good. Usually they come in multi-paks and are $0.50 or so. They last for several months. The ones I like now come from BigLots and have a "anti-slip" feature that I like and they are around a $1.00 a piece (come in paks of 2 or 3 depending on width), still much cheaper than the pantyhose.

Sorry to hear the mouthguards didn't work. I really don't have any suggestions that might help you...it's weird to have that kinda of discomfort....hope you find a solution!rosacer wrote: Thanks for the hint my friend, I will try it.
Re: Headrest and teeth pain
Thanks CollegeGirl for the answer . Yes me too I think the explanation why we started grinding the teeth makes sense, oh yes. Some times I wake up myself suddenly bitting the sides of my tong which lies against the roof of the mouth (to close the air passage) and between the teeth, not fun.
Sleepycarol: I agree pantyhose tights are very expensive here too and I don't wear it neither. But I managed to get two pairs of those I have a friend at choir whom I noticed wears expensive nice pantyhose tights. Then I said to myself 'even if she thinks I'm a crazy I will ask her if she has a pair she is ready to put in the garbage ' I'm laughing writing this down. She answer 'yes I put one pair today in the trash, I will bring it to you next week' good coincidence isn't it?
Oh boy I was so happy when I received my gift. Then she told me one month ago if I wanted a second pair of pantyhose tights she was going to trash. This time I brought her a picture of a Headrest modified and explain her what I was planning to do with the pantyhose, I didn't want her to believe I was a kind of deviant whom collects woman pantyhose tights
dtsm: thanks for your good wishes. I was letting some time to pass before starting to use again the mouth guards (a new one) because my bite was not closing even. As I already told you I suspect it was because I sleep a lot of the time on the right side and the pillow was very hard. For now I have been taping the front of the mouth but I plan to try again the mouth guards. I think my problem is a combination of hard pillow, sleeping too long in the same side, and way too much pressure from the nose pillows.
With the nice answers all you have given me I know I will be able to find a solution and I'm certain this information will be helpful for other members. I had never realize that nasal pillows too tights could produce such a kind of problem.

Re: Headrest and teeth pain
OK, this is what had happened with my quest for the solution for my mysterious teeth pain.
The ZZZ FFM arrived yesterday. I need to say that when I tried the template I was very hesitant about the size because the Medium which is my size normally seemed a bit small. The truth is it was perfect. The shape of the mask looks good, very light compared to the Quattro and less cumbersome; the straps are not too sturdy. This mask is a cushion inside a plastic cage (Quattro is a big plastic structure with the cushion around the side of the opening for the face) , it's hard to explain; let it put it in this way 80% of the mask is the cushion and the 20% left (or less) is the support for the cushion. I have a very low nose bridge and a some how flat rounded face.
Last night I tried to adjust it; it seemed to be god to sleep on the side and on the back but not on the belly. I was not in a good mood to sleep with limitations after all these days having problems with the masks so after half an hour of fight I decided to go to Plan B.
Plan B was my lovely Headrest with minor modifications (big thanks to all the ones who posted with comments and ideas and to Restedgal for the pictures). I changed the angle of the cushions's vertical support with a piece of foam in between the support and the blue strap in the front (this releases the pressure over the nose), I let the pillows very slack over my nose (thanks again for the suggestion) and I used for the first time a leg of my famous pantyhose thights ( ) attached in the back with the knot Restedgal explained us how to make ( ) and no it doesn't slides over the hair. Result: NO PAIN AT ALL THIS MORNING, YES WOW. I'm so happy thanks again for your answers. I decided to write all this compte rendu in case it could be useful to other people and to show my appreciation for the help I received. A MILLION THANKS!
