Re: Side sleepers please chime in
I am a side sleeper and use a Swift original nasal pillow mask. I've added a 2" strip of elastic around the bottom of the headgear and it goes around the back to the other side. It really helps stabilize it. I use tape on my mouth. It all works great.

This is good to knowDreamOn wrote:The Mirage Activa LT uses the same frame as the Mirage SoftGel, so if you buy the SoftGel and want to try the Activa LT later, all you'd need to buy is the Activa LT cushion.Sparky223 wrote:I am thinking about trying the Mirage softgel nasal next

I use a Quattro FFM and have no problems when using a Contour pillow - the cut outs allow the mask to be "suspended" above the pillow.

I am a side sleeper and I also use the Mirage Micro and it works great for me through the night most times. I also am a mouth breather, I combat that by cutting up an ace bandage and sewing it into a loop to use as a chin strap. someday when I am rich and famous I would like to try the papcap ( I think that is what it is called )Sparky223 wrote:Which mask do you wear? I am currently using a resmed mirage micro mask. Its a pretty nice mask, but it starts out great then leaks bad in the middle of the night. I like that style of mask and would like to try something similar.

I sleep on my right side all the time. I use the swift Lt and I have a one inch strap hooked to the hose about two feet down from my mask. I lay on the strap to keep the hose from falling off the edge of the bed. I have some slack in the strap so if I do row over on my back the strap will not pull the mask down and cause leaks. I have used this strap for the last year and it works good for me.

I love u 2...I think I need a lot of distance between myself and the family. I am simply tired...I don't even want to talk about them!
Are you guys on full face mask aware....you can use other types...I went to pillow nasal canula w/ a strap...velcroed around my lower chin toward back of my head....worked great! Now I am on dream weaver w/o strap...it touches my top lip...and no problems in my last study w/it...and guess what...no huge red bracket marks! I have a small face and was having to use a childs small...and then had leaks. Ask your doc or insurance company...I was told I would not be covered for a new machine for 4 more months...I said ok...we will repeat the test in 4 months....they reconsidered that idea. I have 2 insurance companies so I didn't have a lot to lose except tread marks on my face!
this new machine...I just put water in chamber hook up hose and put my cloth mask on w/ my first inhale the machine starts....beats looking for buttons or trying to put on a mask w/gale force winds! wishing you sweet dreams, good nights and better tomorrows!

How often do you replace the soft nose piece? I have been on mine for about 3 months and wonder if I need a replacement. It feels like the sides are blowing out.jabman wrote:I am a side sleeper and I also use the Mirage Micro and it works great for me through the night most times. Re: Side sleepers please chime in
the swift fx work great after tinkering with the straps, i found that if i leave the straps to loose i get leaks and my ahi increases. they are the most reasonable for side sleeping as there is little to make contact with the pillow, unlike the full nasal masks, there are a lot of different angles and settings that you can employ with the pillows to fine tune their effectiveness. the only downside is that the pressure may cause mouth breathing...

Re: Side sleepers please chime in
I'm a side sleeper and LOVE my Swift FX. I use a standard bed pillow and sleep on the edge of it. Haven't had the Swift shift yet. I route the hose up over my headboard so it flips with me if I roll over. Happy, happy.
Good luck finding something that works for you.

Serious side sleeper here and I use the F&P 431. Works great for me. Leaks like a sieve when I flip to my back.
