Re: Are your pets interfering with CPAP?
I banished my dogs from the bed a long time ago. I know it's fun and cute to have them with you, but if she doesn't stay put when you move her over and really is interfering with your therapy, you need to do something. I( know it may be hard). I have a new puppy I would love to have in the bed as well as an older dog who curls up out of the way- sometimes- but I just don't want them on the bed, expecially if they interfered with my CPAP.

My siamese cat also likes to lie on me and snif at the mask When I gently push him away, he goes and lies under the covers next to my feet. He doesn't bother me at all during the night, and only starts walking on me once the alarm clock has gone off (has he really understood that once it has started ringing that means I should (and am more or less willing to) get up??).

dogs and cats can put holes in airhose by chewing it, dog hair can block air intake filter

Re: Are your pets interfering with CPAP?
Good education can prevent that, my cat would never chew anything like that!harry33 wrote:dogs and cats can put holes in airhose by chewing it,
Well, even without animal hair, it is a good idea to clean the filter regularlyharry33 wrote:dog hair can block air intake filter

Re: Are your pets interfering with CPAP?
I have a cat and a kitten. When the kitten first arrived she thought everything was a toy. including my hose. With training she now sleeps with me. I did go through 2 hoses while training her.

LOL! sounds like your dog has fantasies of sticking her head out the car window! She puts her
face in the air stream, then shakes her head and ducks, repeats.

Re: Are your pets interfering with CPAP?
Sounds like a cute pet and companion. I have two cats and they interfere with my therapy in the sense that I have allergy issues in regards to them living with us. As in all pets you get for/because of your kids, I ended up feeding them so i am the one they congregate around when I am home. Like a food oriented pied piper.

Re: Are your pets interfering with CPAP?
The dog sleeps near my knees - that is what the cat decided. The cat sleeps where she pleases. In the morning she likes to cuddle and put her nose in the "jet stream".
The cat however did destroy my previous hose by walking over it - one slips off and then is required to extend ones claws- result 1000 little punctures. I now have a thick fleece cover on the hose.

Re: Are your pets interfering with CPAP?
I have three cats, one sleeps with me and the other two with my daughter. I was worried that Melina won't want to be in my room because of the machine and everything but she isn't fazed. Every night when I mask up and turn out the light she comes next to me for some petting then I tell her it's time to go to bed and she goes to the foot of my bed but not were my feet are. Normally she bothers me around 5am for some attention but for the last two days I have been sleeping till the alarm goes off at 6:40. I cover my machine every morning after I clean and wash everything so no cat hairs get on it. If she didn't sleep with me because of the machine I would be sad but my health is more important than the cats.

Re: Are your pets interfering with CPAP?
My cat has learned that the most efficient way to get my attention is to step on the power button to my machine to turn it off. I have to make sure that she has food every night or I get a wake up call!
Re: Are your pets interfering with CPAP?
One of my labs has figured out that if he pulls the hose so that it disconnects from the ASV I will definitely wake up.
Re: Are your pets interfering with CPAP?
Aren't cats funny? You put on something like the facehugger from aliens along with a strange machine and no reaction. Then when there's a paper bag lying on the floor, the cat acts like it's a snake waiting to strike if she gets too close.LaurieP wrote:I have three cats, one sleeps with me and the other two with my daughter. Re: Are your pets interfering with CPAP?
Cats are funny. They like everything in order, just where it was yesterday. They don't mind a mess, as long as the mess was in the same place yesterday.
When the house is very clean and all strightened up we love to put something on the floor like a flipflop.
She walks in the room and jumps up in the air when she sees it. Really funny. That thing wasn't there a few minutes ago, so it must be bad and have crawled in.
I love cats. I have two.
