Red Sox: it does get better! After 9 months of using cpap, my life is 100% better! I struggled as many do, but it was all worth it. Keep goin'. Your face needs to get used to wearing a mask while you are trying to sleep, but it will happen. Aint' no goin' back!
God Bless! Sheriff

It gets better!
On the home page at the top under "Announcements" is a thread called "Newbie would like to hear success stories". Take a gander at that.
Hang in there, and if we can help with any specific issues, let us know.

Re: Connecticut Newbie
You,ve probably had OSA for years before you, your spouse,or your physician got to the point of doing something about it.. It is going to take a good while to acclimate your mind & body to accept and endure the CPAP machine and then another period of time as your body heals from the OSA abuse. Struggles at first but things WILL improve gradually and you will start to recognize the improvement in your well being. Others around you may also see the improvement.

Re: Connecticut Newbie
Welcome! Yes, it does get better, though it might be slow. For me, it's very slowly getting better day by day. I'm having less trouble concentrating in the afternoons, and sleeping better overall when I travel, so even after just 1.5 months, I'm seeing some results.
Hang in there. The discomfort DEFINITELY gets better within a few weeks of starting treatment. Your body will begin to recognize the mask as "normal" just like the sheets that touch your body all night long. That means you'll begin to notice the mask less and less - just like you don't really notice the sheets =) So it gets a lot more comfortable quickly.
