Guess what dumb thing I did?

Post by Sireneh » Mon May 02, 2011 9:50 pm

I thought I was so organized and clever because I ordered a machine from cpap.com and took back my rental to my DME today at a follow-up appointment. I have an older machine on loan from a friend, and at the DME today I bought a new mask (Swift FX for her! Can't wait to try it!) There is one thing I did not account for: the freakin' hose! My machine is coming to me in Canada from the US and could be another week and-a-half to two weeks away.

I was thinking about calling my sleep doc's clinic tomorrow to see if they might have a hose I could borrow or rent until my machine comes. Argh! I am not going to be happy without my CPAP!

Surely tomorrow your sleep clinic will be able to meet your need. If there's one thing a sleep clinic does have it's hoses.

my sleep clinic said they use disposable hoses and only use them for one night. So they should have something for you....

When my dad broke his hip I rushed the 280 miles to see him and remembered "the box" about halfway there. Called my big brother which I had helped become comfortable with his "box" whe he got it. Same pressure, he had an old mask for a spare. We just had to alternate using it, not hard since we were sitting shifts around the clock with dad anyway.
always a hosehead, almost a hoser.

I didn't think you could buy one without a hose included from cpap.com

Looking through their website, I can't find away to purchase one without it.

No, a hose will come with the new machine. I am using borrowed stuff in the interim.

So I snored my head off last night and felt really crappy today. Oh, how I hate feeling like that. All set to go for tonight, though.

It always helps to have a spare or two on hand in case one springs a leak or breaks in some other manner...... they are certainly cheap enough to have a couple around.
Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.

A six foot hose comes with the machine, and then I ordered an extra 8 footer so I was reluctant to purchase yet a third one. Anyway, the borrowed one worked well.
