I ordered a new climateline hose and the Resmed hose cover.

I made the mistake of assuming that the only difference between slimline and climateline was the heated hose feature.

WRONG

They are different length hoses (thanks again Resmed).

Here is how my cover falls short (note photo appears blue when the cover is grey, iphone 4 camera)



I called cpap.com, after 20 mins on hold Annie told me this was a Resmed design issue and as i opened the hose cover i'm stuck with it.

Notice the hose does not even have any change to the cuffs to re-enforce them. This was not much of a surprise after being told months ago from a Resmed rep that a redesign was in the works.

Are you supposed to put a cover on a heated hose? Sounds like a fire hazard to me.

Not sure it's much consolation, but I don't think you need a hose cover at all with the climateline hose. I've never used one and never had any rainout issues with it.

For a moment I thought that you'r not happy b/c something is wrong with you, but a air hose? Why do you need a fancy climate hose in Arizona?

First up if anything is fancy I love it
Second, the climate itself varies so much here. We can go from below freezing to 115 degrees with 5% to 70% humidity, this can vary dramatically during the monsoon season. I've found that this can also vary dramatically since I've shown the wife how to use the new digital HVAC control panel and change the temperature settings.

I'm happy with the performance of the hose.

Bob, I have a climate hose but don't use b/c 1) My room temp is set at 75 F all year long, and 2) The hose is heavy on my chest. BUT, the slimline is cheaply made and tears easily especillally at the turn out from CPAP's back (for the S9s). So be ready with a spare.

The whole point of the heated hose is to make other solutions for rainout, like a hose cover, unnecessary.

I second the concern that it may be a fire hazard to put a hose cover on a heated hose.

I think Resmed says not to use a hose cover with climateline. I live in Colorado thus very dry air. Love the climateline with no cover. Not too heavy & never a problem.

I agree, no cover on a heated hose unless the manufacturer says it's OK.

It might not be a fire hazard, though. After, all you don't really expect the hose to burst into flames if it ends up wrapped in a blanket or if you end up lying on top of it.
