Re: PR S1 - Custom wooden Cradle / Stand

Hi,

I am impressed. You made a nice little shelf! You should decorate and stain it. It looks like you took care in fabricating it. Post the plans I'm sure that other would appreciate it.

On a separate note, I noticed from the photos that you have one of the "new" PRS1 units (the one with a back light). It is very quiet. Do you really need to keep it in the travel case. I keep mine right next to me, on the night stand, and my spouse is actually upset because it is too quiet.

Leaving it out so that it gets better air flow around it will reduce internal heat and that is usually a good thing for the moving parts and electronics.

Cheers

Way cool! I have the same machine and I keep it right on my nightstand but I really like your cradle. Excellent work!

Nice job, Lars. And I love the hardware on your nightstand. What goes around comes around. Years ago, like 50 years ago, my stepmother bought all "blonde" furniture as she had severe arthritis and the blonde furniture didn't show dust. Its rather nice to see the "blonde" furniture coming back. I LOVE the pickled white oak cupboards that are so popular now. When we refinished our hardwood floors several years ago we stained them pickled oak before putting the new finish on. I love them. I was so TIRED of the baby poo yellow of our oak flooring.

Nice job Lars. Now that you have it all figured out all you need to do is make another one using walnut veneer plywood with walnut edging and walnut handles and bracing, all finished with rubbed oil! Now that would really set off your precious air machine!!

"Raw" walnut is such a beautiful wood. Shades of mauves, greys, taupes, beiges .... *sigh* ... and no way to "keep" those colors once you put ANY type of finish on it.

lars, from one wood worker to another, nice job.
I'll bet you built that w/pieces out of the scrap box.
Very economical.
Nice touch on the beveled handles.
It also helps to personalize your equipment.
It's nice to look at, feel, utilize and appreciate your handy work, everyday.
You have a very unique and functional piece of cpap equipment.

............no kidding.

Hi,

There is no kidding on my part. I think that it looks nice. I was suggesting that you should finish it and post the plans. Seriously.

Cheers

First of all, remember Mars & Venus. Women just don't understand!

Seriously, it's a great job. As far as using walnut, you are a man, and men are quite often given to excess just for bragging rights and showing off. So, from the standpoint of making something to show off, I guess you could say I was being light hearted. From the standpoint of pure mundane unadorned functionality, what you have is terrific.

The choice is, "Be a man and be 100% practical!", or, "Be a man and show off your talents so your neighbor will be envious!"
