I do! I do!! Actually, I have used both the PR SystemOne BPAP Auto AND the Resmed S8 VPAP Auto and liked them both, got good therapy w/both, have my preference of one over the other for reasons having NOTHING to do w/the therapy provided by either.

I'm technically on a ventilator, but it's being used in a bipap mode, with AVAPS added.

I'm on a BiPAP. Love it! (as much as one can love a pap machine )

Straight BiPAP is cheaper to supply. The BiPap Auto can be used in straight BiPap mode just like the regular APAP can do straight CPAP mode. 2 machines in one. Profit margin for straight BiPap is more. Unless the doctor specified the model name specifically you got the same run around that regular cpap users get.

Edit Roughly $250 difference in price when looking at cpap.com advertised prices for the Pro vs the Auto. These are pricier machines for sure.

Actually, the bi-levels can be used in CPAP, straight bi-level or auto bi-level mode. At least the Resmed VPAP Auto and PR SystemOne BPAP Auto can.

Even better deal. 3 machines in one.

But no one is going to pay the money to buy a bi-level with the intent of running it in straight cpap mode. Yikes! ($600-$700 vs $2,000!!)

Yeah, I don't see the sense either - but mine is not to reason why, mine is but to do or die. *sigh* Or something like that. Stroke, heart attack, diabetis, whatever, all those nasty things OSA can do to ya if you aren't good mens and womans and use your PAP every time you sleep.
