I've been using a Remstar Pro M Series for 3 years with almost no issues other than initially getting use to CPAP therapy, but even that wasn't a big deal. I've lugged this machine everywhere and have missed maybe four nights the entire time.
I decided to upgrade to a Resmed S9 a month ago and that's when things started getting bad. At first, I thought the new mask was the problem. I had the mask adjusted comfortably and had no issues getting to sleep, but woke up several times in the night adjusting it because of leaks. I'd wake up groggy the morning after with deep strap marks and the next night I was suprised how flippin' tight I had the mask from the night before. I figured "new machine, I'll get use to it". Well, I didn't.
Used my trusty old mask and headgear and it was better, but not the quality of sleep I'd been enjoying for quite some time. Then, about a week ago, I noticed I was feeling dizzy during certian moments of the day. Thought to myself maybe my blood pressure had increased or something. (Hey, I have teenage kids, being teenage kids. Perfectly logical, right?)
I finally gave up and started using my old machine and mask. Much better. Started using the old machine and new mask. Not bad.
I never really looked into pressures and things like that, heck, I was happy for 3 years! If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Right?
I started looking around and found out how to adjust pressure on the machine. I could've sworn my sleep doc said I was set at a 12. Checked the old machine, it was set at 14. WOW! Checked the new machine... Set at 14. There is no way this can be right, right? Checking both machines with no ramping, HUGE difference. Old machine putting out a solid, steady stream of air. The new one? I took it out on the patio and used it as a leaf blower...
Long story even longer, I've adjusted the new machine to 12 and going to give it a go. My question is, can I check AHI on the new machines menu?

Yes, Just hold the double checkmark button and the info down together for 3-5 second and it will add a reports icon to the menu. Scroll down to it and then push the knob to select.
Did you get an Autoset?

Which S9 machine did you get? Above link has instructions on how to get to clinical menu and pictures of what you might see.

It's the "elite", no mention of autoset. I'll take a look at the link and hopefully soon I'll be back to a good nights sleep. Thanks!

Well, at least you can get data from it to see what's going on.zamdriver wrote:It's the "elite", no mention of autoset. I'll take a look at the link and hopefully soon I'll be back to a good nights sleep. Thanks!

I turned the "sleep quality" function on. After two nights, AHI reads --. What am I doing wrong? The positive is that I've really gotten a good nights sleep after adjust pressure from 14 to 12, but I really want to follow AHI to narrow it down.
