Here I sit 5 hours later
Here I sit 5 hours later
I did have a small nap. I'm sitting here in my mask. Just had to get up. Mask tight but secured. Will my data show all the times I spend awake like this? I know I should go to bed later, but my evening anxiety is so bad I'd rather wallow around trying to sleep than staying up.

Re: Here I sit 5 hours later
I am not an expert, but I went through this also. Most folks assume apneas do not occur unless you are asleep. Most machines do not tell you if you were awake or asleep. You may seee a AHI of say 3.5, but you can't tell if that was in a 10 minute or 2 hour session. My docs say unless you know for sure you were asleep, the machine does not tell you, although a change of pressure may be indicative.
It is pretty hard to sit there for 3-4 or 5 hours and not being able to sleep, with no therapeutic value...;.so I am sympathetic. A sleep aide drug may help you get over the hump. I was told to not nap, so you are more inclined to sleep at night.

Re: Here I sit 5 hours later
we do this cpap procedure so as to get some badly needed rest for our bodies, Talk too your doctor about a real sleep aid, after a 6 week to 6 mos period you may find that you don't need them anymore or you will continue on with the meds and get rested and you'll feel like a million bucks, another thing that helps is your wind down time before bed, no cafeine, no talking on the phone, you want your mind and body to relax---good luck--FA
