All I can say is that I really wish there was an AWAKE support group somewhere close to Buffalo. I really wish I could meet with other hose heads in person. It's been frustrating dealing with even the quality support I get from the sleep doctor's PA (who is not a hose head) and the uneven support from the rest of my doctors, PAs, and dentist.

There is a new AWAKE group starting in Atlanta sometime in the next month or so, affiliated with the Emory Sleep Center. That's a definite connection I'd try to take advantage of. Competition for Atlanta CPAP Users Group? Maybe not. We've invited the gentleman starting the group to our next meeting at Einstein Bros on April 16 to learn more about it.

If you don't have a group in your area, can you not start one yourself. That's how groups get started, someone sees a need and gets going. Post flyers all over your town, find a meeting place......and youv'e got it started.
Good luck
Nan

Hi, RobySue,

I am in the Buffalo area and have had no success in finding an apnea support group. Have you found one? Or started one?

Short answers:

1) Have had NO success in finding a support group in the Buffalo area.

2) Greatly interested in starting one, but don't have the time nor energy to do it solo.

Any interest helping try to start one? Or interest in at least starting small by meeting in person somewhere occasionally? If so, PM me.
