Nasal pillows hurt to wear. Regular nasal masks are difficult because of the seal, and because I'm not used to breathing through my nose. Should I try a gel nasal mask next? Is it best to get used to nose breathing, or should I just go to a full face mask?

You may want to register so you can list your equipment in text version so others can help you. I had great difficulty with nasal pillows and switched to a ResMed Full Face Ultra Mirage mask in size small/normal cushion. You will still be better off breathing through your nose, but it is easier to do in a full face mask.

Nasal pillows hurt to wear ONLY when they are improperly fit. If you let us know what nasal pillows you have, we can point you to some fitting tips that might help.

Even if you use a FF mask you need to get the mouth breathing under control. Mouth breathing affects the effectiveness of the therapy in general, and a dropped lower jaw can break the seal of a a FF mask, causing leakage and loss of good therapy pressure.
