M Series Beeping when card inserted

One night recently about 15 minutes into sleep, M Series APAP began beeping and blue lights blinking. Removed data card and beeping ceased. When card is reinserted machine beeps and blinks, no matter which direction it is inserted.

Any ideas what happened, or any way to correct it?

Normally multiple beeps are an indication the card is inserted improperly.
Single beep means it is inserted properly. Gold square in first and to the outside of the machine.
Absence of beeps card not inserted completely.
For it to start beeping and blinking after the card is inserted 15 minutes later is odd.
Anything showing on the LED screen while it is beeping and blinking?

It could also be a software error on the card. My work ID is a SmartCard. It does that when I plug it in (correctly). Try reading your card. And maybe formatting it again.

I'm guessing that he means by using the Encore Pro software on your computer (assuming that you have it)

Try cleaning the gold square with some alcohol and/or a rubber pencil eraser.
