Mask is leaking REALLY phenomenally

Post by jmcsmomma » Sat Mar 26, 2011 8:01 am

My poor husband has gotten Mr Frowny face two days in a row. He is using the FP 431 (what they gave him, not just cause I had it) when I download his data, it is massive leak after massive leak. The thing is, I can't HEAR his mask leaking that much. He also says he didn't feel like it was leaking that much. We switched from a medium seal to a small, should we go to large? I am really trying to help him get used to this. His AHI did drop from 9 something to 4 something

Is he using a ResMed machine, I assume? If so, make sure you have the mask selection set appropriately. There may not be a leak.

I'm not home right now, but as I can recollect, the epr is set to full, at 3, exhale is patient, pressure is 14. I thought it was set to full face, but I could be wrong. I'll check when I get back from this wrestling tourney.

If it is an actual leak, maybe a mask liner would help.

Ya know, I was wondering how hard it would be to sew some...I may try that out, Thanks for the responses.

If you can send me a PM with your email address, I can attach the pattern in an email. It is in PDF format. I looked and I can't do an attachment through PM. Sorry about that!
