Remzzzs facial mask and Insurance/Medicare

Post by charliemack » Fri Mar 18, 2011 10:35 am

My DME sent me a flyer saying that facial liners made by RemZzzx.com qualify for medical Insurance and Medicare. The HCPCS Billing Codes are A7031 and A7032.

Have not purchased them yet but this is good news for those of us who regularly use them and know the relief one gets from facial mask noise.

Wonder what hoops Karen at Padacheeks needs to go through to get her liners to qualify for Medicare reimbursement? I would suspect expensive hoops. Remzzzs probably budgeted for those hoops in hopes to get more business. Also wonder what Medicare now allows for those liners replacement as people report they don't seem to last as long as others. Did the flyer mention replacement schedule?

Getting DME items coded is a pretty daunting process. They have to go through PDAC at Noridian Administrative Services. They have the CMS contract to do coding for Medicare. It's http://www.dmepdac.com. There's a link on the front page of PDAC that goes to the product review application process.

For the padacheek mask liners, the application would be the very last on on the list (DME and supplies).

One of my BFFs was a coder for SADMERC - who had the contract before PDAC. We used to get the kewlest stuff come in to code!
