Need some quick setting advice - ResMed S9 AutoSet

Post by 30Valve » Mon Mar 07, 2011 10:41 pm

Hi All -
I just got my ResMed S9 Autoset + humidifier, and need some advice on how to set it up for the first night. My "prescription" is for a CPAP at a pressure setting of 9, and a ramp setting of 10 minutes, based on my sleep study. Unpacking everything as we speak...

Then that's how you need to set it up.

how far have you got?
see the download link for the clinicians manual below my avatar to the left here.
main thing would be to set your pressure, see page 16.

clincial setup menu, hold down the dial button and the bottom of the two other button for 3 seconds. use the dial to scroll up and down and push the dial to select an option.
set the mode to CPAP, pressure to 9 and set EPR to 3.

EPR is a comfort feature than lowers the pressure on exhale, its a personal choice.

Slowly getting there...turning on important things like Sleep Quality. (Why in the world would that be disabled??) Fast forwarding to pg 19.

Thanks again Uncle_Bob! I grabbed the manual and software thanks to your link, and have read many of your other posts.

Good start

you need to sleep with the SD card in the machine at night for the machine to record the detailed data.

re software : you need to tell the software to download the detailed data, the default is summary data only.

I hope you have a good night with your new S9.
