Is there a chinstrap that holds your mouth closed

If you have found a comfortable one, what is the brand/name and where did you get it?

The gold standard is: papcap or papcap plus from pur-sleep.com, full refund policy.

Been there; done that. Didn't work for me. Thanks anyway for the reply.

No chin strap deals with lips, they hold the jaw together. If you lips don't meet it won't help. You need a full face mask.

A FFM will at least equalize the pressure between the inside and outside of our mouth, reducing the likelihood of air blowing out between your lips. May not completely stop it, though. A little taping might fix whatever leaks are left after that. I have to do both if i want to completely stop it. A chin strap by itself wont do it. A chinstrap plus a FFM will pretty much stop it. It usually does for me, if I don't feel like taping. I use the PAPCAP and Strap with a Quattro FFM, and it pretty much works with my pressure at 13 without taping.

Like many others, I have problems with leaks, and tried FFM, tape and chinstrap. None are perfect, all have their plus and minus -- all which have been discussed ad nauseam.

I was merely replying to OP's question: what is a comfortable chinstrap? Given there a full refund policy, and that it works for 'some' folks, it might have been worth a trial. Since OP now says he's tried it without success, maybe other's can suggest a better chinstrap... Or he can try tape. Or he can try FFM. Or he can try combo of the above three?

You can breathe through that. Especially if your teeth don't meet in the front. The hybrid with chin flap is much more friendly

I have used the chinstrap deluxe strap, it seems to stop mouth leaks for me.

We will see what Rested Gal has to say about breathing through this chinstrap after she gives it a good test run.

If you'd consider something other than a chin strap... I have been using Chin-up Strips http://www.chinupstrip.com/ for the last week and that has solved my open-mouth problem. They sort of hold your bottom lip up, so you can open your mouth (top lip) a tiny bit to cough or drink water, but the mouth doesn't drop open because the bottom lip can't move. I tried putting milk of magnesia on my skin last night (and letting dry before applying strip), to keep the strip from pulling off skin. It worked.
Some have also recommended Poligrip, and I bought some but have not tried it yet.
Good luck! This was my biggest problem (besides figuring out what mask worked for me) for the first two months.

Was looking thru Amazon.com's selection of chin straps and I think I found one that will do the job. Appears VERY durable but maybe a little heavy and quite pricey.
