PR System One question (data card)

Post by needzzzzs » Wed Mar 02, 2011 4:44 pm

I forgot to put my card back into the machine after looking at the data yesterday. Can I just put the card back in the machine, turn it on for a few minutes, and find the data on the card today, or do I need to wait till tomorrow after a full night's sleep?

Thanks,

Debbie

Just put the card in the machine, you haven't lost anything. If you wait until tomorrow you will lose one daily report, from last week, it stores only 7 days of daily reports at a time. The other averages and long term trends will not be affected. Kathy

I've left mine out for a day or two, and it isn't a problem. You can put the card in whenever you want to. If you want to put the card in, and read it the same day, you only have to leave it in for a minute or two. It will write last night's data onto the card once it is inserted. Then you can take it out to view the information.

The only caveat is if you are using EncorePro. In EncorePro, you have to have the card in overnight in order to get the waveform data for that night. If you forget your card, you won't be able to access the waveforms. (I see you have EncoreViewer, but I just wanted to add this for anyone else who may be reading this.)

Thanks!

I knew I wouldn't lose the data, just didn't know how long I might have to leave it in the machine, so I think you've answered that question. Will give it a try!

I'm using this software and note that I cannot get the wave data for every night. What would I need to do in order to get the wave data every day/night? Example: If I download the card say on after the 3rd night, then I have wave data for the night immediately preceding the download, but not the other two nights. Is there a trick to it, or do I need to d/l every day, and between or before a specific time?

Sorry, Terri, but I really don't know. I've only been using Pro for about a week and a half. I download daily, but the days that I forgot to keep the card in the machine, I didn't have waveform data. I've read other places that some nights you just don't get waveforms, for no apparent reason. I also read somewhere that if you do not want to download every day, you could have multiple cards, and use a new card each night. Then when you do download them, you can just select the box that tells the program to erase all data after the download. I'm going to stick to the daily downloads for a while, and see what happens.

CruzTerri asked:
What would I need to do in order to get the wave data every day/night?
What I do is save the card data to my computer every day. I don't have a Windows machine, so I save up all the "P-Series" folders (renaming them with the date, so I'm not overwriting the same file). Then when I get access to a Windows computer I put all these on a zip drive, and one at a time I rename them P-Series again, starting with the oldest. Then when download is successful in EncorePro for that folder, I tag the date back onto the name, and choose the next night's folder and change it to P-Series.

If I load one night at a time, EncorePro is pretty good at showing the wave form. I had trouble with a couple dates, but otherwise I get them all.

It is slow and tedious, but it is worth it to me.

The other idea is to look at the waveform in Audacity, or using CPAPdork's Onkor online viewer for the dates that don't work in EncorePro. I like the online experiment.

Is there any chance that the online version would be able to capture the waveforms for nights that the card was not in the machine? Or does the card need to be in the machine for the info to be recorded? Any idea?

the data will write to the card as soon as it is put in, ie you put it in, wait till the message is gone, data is now on card.

For waveform the card needs to be in, to see it daily you need to remove and read the card daily.
