Dear All,
I am trying this machine vs the Respironics PR System One A-Flex. My wife and I both found the A-Flex machine very quiet while the DeVilBiss one has a distinct machine winding noise coming out every time in inhale. Is the noise I mentioned true to the DeVilBiss machine or would it be the machine maybe faulty because it is a demo machine? Thanx for helping

Re: DeVilBiss IntelliPAP AutoAdjust user please help!
I think that is a sound that is conducted via the hose/mask. My IP is super quiet.... and it is the second quietest machine on the market; however, a few folks have mentioned that their IPs were noisier than expected so I don't know. I do hear inhale/exhale sounds, but they are not loud at all. I think it also has to do with the mask you are using......
Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.

Dear Midas,
Sorry to hear you are having noise. My Itellipap is super quiet or my wife would have told me otherwise. When you discover what is causing the noise let us know.

Dear Emilia and LarryD,
Thanks for the prompt reply. I have not bought the machine yet. I am testing the two machines (A-Flex and IntelliPAP) and found the A-Flex super quiet. I could hear the wind noise coming out from the mask. However, with the IP, I can definately hear machine winding noise coming out from the machine during the exhaling phase. When I put my ear next to the machine, it is confirmed again the noise is from the machine not from the mask.
Emilia, when you mentioned IP is the second quietest machine, so which one is the quietest in the market?
Thanx again for your help
Yours sincerely,
Midas

I think there is something wrong with the machine your testing. Mine is as quiet as a mouse.
The only ones that might be more quiet is the S9 Auto Set or S8 II Auto Set. Supposed to be 24db. My ears can't detect a 2db variation.
