I posted a week or so ago that I was trying to exchange my S9 Elite for an Autoset. Well, I did it! The DME just dropped it off and I can't wait to go to sleep tonight so that I can try it. The copy of the invoice just said "exchange" and there was no charge (I'll keep that copy in a safe place). Thanks to all of you who helped me figure out what to say to the insurance company, doctor and DME. You helped me make it happen. I'm doing a happy dance!

WTG, Nancy! I'm glad they didn't try to pull a fast one and stick you with an Escape Auto. I was worried about that!

Its a shame they make you jump through the hoops, especially when you are sleep deprived.
I'm glad it worked out for you Nancy.
Since you are in Arizona also you might want to get some of these to go with your new machine

Re: I have my new S9 Autoset!
Thanks for the filter suggestion, Uncle_Bob. I will definitely look into those.
Thanks for all of the nice replies. That's what I love about this forum. No one else cares one bit about whether I have a CPAP or an Autoset or a whatever. You can get on here and crow about the simplest little thing and there are people who care and who will get excited with you. Thanks a million!
The DME brought me a copy of the new Rx when he brought my machine and the doctor specifically ordered the ResMed Autoset S9 with heated humidifier. My new settings are Max pressure 12, Min pressure 8. My old pressure on the S9 Elite was 10. I didn't have any problems getting used to the first machine. Will this one be harder? I don't know quite what to expect since I only had the one pressure before but I know that whatever it is, I'm going to make it work and I am so thankful that my doctor agreed to let me get the Autoset.

Re: I have my new S9 Autoset!
Because it is going to start out at a pressure of 8 instead of 10, using the AutoSet should be easier than using the Elite. The pressure should not increase until after you are asleep, and then only if necessary.
A few people are bothered by the pressure changes during sleep, but I have not found that to be a problem with my S8 AutoSet. At worst, you could always put the AutoSet into straight CPAP mode.
