Help! My doctor blocked my ahi and cflex+.
Help! My doctor blocked my ahi and cflex+.
I went to my follow up today. My doctor took my sd card went to another room and gave me my results. All in all I was waiting for 45 mins to see her but was in her office for 10 mins. She told me she raised my pressure because I had a hard time breathing. Although my ahi was 1.8 i still feel that i struggle breathing and told her i still choke in the middle of the night. She said she changed my pressure. When i got home and got ready for bed i noticed i coukdnt view my ahi anymore and my cflex+ setting was changed to cflex. I tried the clinicians setup but it wont work. I only get a beeping sound to remove the card. Any advise as to hiw i can over rude the clex and get to see my ahi on my display screen. I dont understand why she blocked it. It's my therapy.
Re: Help! My doctor blocked my ahi and cflex+.
I am new to this; is it possible to program your unit just through your sd card? My PT has to have my unit in hand to make any changes and my card only seems to be for storing data.

Re: Help! My doctor blocked my ahi and cflex+.
Never heard of a situation where they could completely lock out the clinician's menu. If my doctor did this to me, I would be looking for a new doctor. Hopefully, someone who knows the PR system one machines will chime in with advice.

It is possible to program setting changes via the SD card when using the EncorePro software.
Wasn't aware that they could also completely lock someone out of the LED data to the point that the normal way to get to the on screen data was locked. Makes a person wonder why they took the effort when it wasn't blocked before.
You can't get to any settings using the normal way? I know that there is a setting to turn off patient data showing but normally a little jaunt through the clinician menu allows for turning that back on.
What steps are you using (that used to work) to get to the clinician setup menu? Maybe someone using this machine will spot something different to try.

Here's a link to adjust machines. Maybe yours is on the list!

If the machine settings are on the card, you cannot change them with the card installed. And if you DO change them without the card, they will revert back as soon as you insert the card. You could leave the card out, but of course you'd have no recorded data then.
You need to change the settings ON THE CARD, not thru the clinician's menu on the machine. I don't think Encore Viewer will do that. But Encore Pro will. I do it all the time. (And so does your Dr, apparently...)

Do you have the software by chance? You could see your data in depth with the software and not just the averages that show on the LED screen.

Are you using the Encoreviewer software? When you try to change the settings on your CPAP is the SD card already inserted or is it removed?

When you change your pesscription using encore pro, there is a check box to have the machine delete the perscription from the card after it is up loaded, it is off by default. The only way to fix it is to insert it in the computer with encore pro and resave the perscription to the card with the box checked, Otherwise the card will deliver the perscription everytime its inserted in the cpap.
Re: Help! My doctor blocked my ahi and cflex+.
I could be wrong, but I don't see any indication she has ANY software or card reader. That's the problem.
Her choices are:
Remove the card and change settings thru the menu. BUT, then she'd have no data on the card the next time she sees the doc.
OR negotiate with the doc to see why the Flex+ is locked. There may be a medical reason for it, or she might get it changed. That's probably the best way to go at this point.

Try turning the dial until the setup menu is highlighted. Then hold down the turn dial and the ramp button together until it beeps or indicates that it entered the clinical menu. I don't believe that it is possible to lock you out but she programmed the sd card to change settings on the machine. You should be able to find those settings in the clinical menu.
Good Luck

Another way is to hop over to the store and get a 1 or 2 GB SD card and put it into the machine AFTER you change the settings.
The machine will recognize the blank card and start all over collecting data. It has this function because SD cards are notorious for failing and becoming unusable.
If you have access to a computer with an SD card reader, then copy the new card to the old card and off you go.
If you want to preserve the data from the old card, then copy the p0 folder to the p0 folder from the old card to the new one.
Then delete all the folders on the old card ( make sure you have already let the machine initialize the new card ), and then copy back all the files from new to old.
Next time you see the doc, make a backup copy of your card and keep it at home. You'll be able to restore it if the doc screws with it again.

Re: Help! My doctor blocked my ahi and cflex+.
thanks for all the responses! had the worst night last night. maybe its psychological. i did my first 2 months of treatment with no ramp. then my doc assigns a 20 min ramp. i finally figured after 10 mins of suffocating i can override that. but, i still cant override my cflex nor see my ahi. i pressed ramp and dial for a few seconds to be on clinicians menu. but yes it always goes back to prescription when i exit. i do not have any form of software yet because i lack the funds for that. im having surgery done this month and my bills from my studies and machine have not been sent to me yet either. im wondering if my doctor just wants me to go back to her office and pay another $55 for something stupid she did. it doesnt make sense when she told me my numbers were good. no missed days in 2 months and i ave 7.2 hours of sleep!
Re: Help! My doctor blocked my ahi and cflex+.
If the doc is paying attention at all, it will be obvious that the data doesn't match the previous settings. Far simpler to discuss the settings with the doc. As I said, there MAY be a medical reason for the call he/she made.JDS74 wrote:Another way is to hop over the store...
