Anybody else noticed this on the modern machines?
Re: Anybody else noticed this on the modern machines?
I meant sizing. He may possibly need a size smaller now or perhaps a different mask? There is nothing automatic about masks, not all masks fit everyone, that's why it's so difficult to find "The One". Just a thought.

Mikey needs to find the correct tree and I repost to help him:

You have spent a good bit of time posting about the supposedly improper calibration of your machine.
More importantly what is your efficacy data showing? AHI, AI, SI, Leak, etc.?
You are playing Internet sleep doctor dude. I learned a long, long, LONG time ago that if my minimum pressure was not a 11 to 11.1, it did not matter what my readings were, I felt like crap the next day. And my symptoms would come back. And my Internist would start asking me whats going on with my BP.
Maybe I will start my own CPAP manufacturing business, base it out of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, only hire American citizens who speak English and do it right and make good, basic gear. You know the saying, if you want something done right, do it yourself. And put these other companies out of business by going back to the basics.

Re: Anybody else noticed this on the modern machines?
I hope you all like your approximate APAP minimum pressures and your approximate CPAP pressures. A few years ago, the pressures were usually dead on or close to it. Its probably all the outsourcing to dumbass countries like india, china, australia and other third world countries.

Re: Anybody else noticed this on the modern machines?
You had better hire people who know the difference between CM H2O and PSI. We know you don't know the difference because you quoted your pressure as 11.0 PSI in another thread. Better get educated or your manufacturing business will be blowing lungs apart.ResmedUser wrote:

Why don't you come clean and ask someone on the forum how to read and interpret your efficacy data like Rooster suggested?
Here is a link where you can learn things like what AHI means - wiki/index.php/Category:CPAP_Definitions.

I would hardly call Australia a third world country!!!!

Re: Anybody else noticed this on the modern machines?
Why won't you talk about your "readings" from your S9?? Your equipment is showing the S9 machine but the S8 software. Do you have the new software? Are you monitoring your data? I'm sure the experts here (and there are many of them) would bet their last dollar that a few decimal points up/down in pressure would not be making such a big difference in your sleep quality.ResmedUser wrote:I learned a long, long, LONG time ago that if my minimum pressure was not a 11 to 11.1, it did not matter what my readings were, I felt like crap the next day. As an Aussie living in the US, I take personal offence at Mikey's insinuation that Australian products are inferior.
FYI, Mikey, as I live in the US I proudly seek to buy American products where I can, just as I would buy Australian products if I were still in Australia (psssst!! please don't let on to Mikey I still have to import Vegemite and Tim Tams to the States though).
And Mikey - I just wanna thank you. I now seek your posts when I need a good laugh - not for the content of your inane posts, but for the responses from the members of this forum who are just trying to help you help yourself

Re: Anybody else noticed this on the modern machines?
You dont need the software, you just need a machine that works right at the right pressures and then use the darn thing regular.

Mikey, Thanks for responding to my question above in another thread, I knew the answer before I asked it. Please refrain from giving misinformation here! To any NEWBIES reading this, please ignore Mikey's comment, a data-capable machine with software is ESSENTIAL to successful therapy! That and the right mask are basic necessities along with making good use of this great forum. Most of us here would agree that it is the expert knowledge and compassion found here that makes all the difference.
