Setting the Clock on the System One
Does anyone know how to set the clock on the respironics system one auto bipap? When I look at the wave form reports generated from it on encore pro it's about 10-12 minutes off. I looked through all the settings stuff but there was no mention of a clock.
Re: Setting the Clock on the System One
Just a suggestion, I found that when I initially started using the software the "clock" was off. With the help of Dave, I was able to find the time setting in the software. Now it correctly reports the data. This makes me think that it might not be the System One, but the clock on your computer or the time set in the software.
I have a System One Pro, and the clinician's manual, but I could not find a time setting on the machine. That's where I initially went to when I was trying to fix the time/clock issue to sync with the software.
Your mileage may vary.

Re: Setting the Clock on the System One
Thanks, I'll check the software when I get home from work. The clock on my PC is correct (it contacts the time server over the internet). The only clock setting that I remember for the Encore Pro software was the time zone, but I'll delve deeper.CruzTerri wrote:Just a suggestion, I found that when I initially started using the software the "clock" was off. I don't get it. How does fixing the time in the software result in the data collected by the machine to be logged to the correct time? Or did fixing the time involve telling the software the time that corresponded some reading recorded by the machine?CruzTerri wrote:I was able to find the time setting in the software. I'm with Groggy... Is there any real value in knowing the exact time? When I look at the data, I compare events with other events, but I never really even look at the clock time.

Re: Setting the Clock on the System One
Actually, I glance at the clock and make a mental note of how I'm feeling every time I wake up at night. So having the data logged against time helps me figure out why I woke up the previous night.
Anyway, does anyone have any idea as to how to set the time on the System One? I see no menu option on the machine. And I don't understand the logic of the previous suggestion that setting the time on the computer somehow sets it on the machine.

Re: Setting the Clock on the System One
The only time setting in the software is the GMT setting, I didn't have an issue with the time once I set the software for my timezone.

in encore pro 2.4 it is in the company settings, office, then edit and choose time zone from drop down.
The way it works is machine is at GMT, software looks at GMT, and displays based on time zone.

Re: Setting the Clock on the System One
I get that you can change the time zone.
What I'm trying to figure out is how I can set the time and date on the machine when I'm traveling across time zones. If I use the machine half-way across the world, I really don't want the data to show that I went to sleep at 10 am and woke up at 6pm instead of whatever the local time was. Besides how the heck will the machine figure out when nights starts and ends if you don't set it to the local time.

You can't except one version of firmware i think was settable, Basically the machine is at GMT, There is no way to change itTooGroggy wrote:I get that you can change the time zone.

Re: Setting the Clock on the System One
The reason that I'd like the correct time is to coordinate with my Pulse Oximetry data, so that I might be able to correlate some of the waveform reports (e.g. at times when I have CA, or H) with pulse and desat events. The CMS50E makes me set the time each time (a bit of a pain) which I'm doing off the clock next to my bed. I estimate that that the System One is about 15 minutes fast(!), but I'd like to know it more exactly.LinkC wrote:I'm with Groggy... Is there any real value in knowing the exact time? Re: Setting the Clock on the System One
Actually I'd like to make the system one see the day as other then 12noon- 12 noon. I sleep an "off schedule" which sometimes lets me sleep past noon. It then gets tagged on to the next day. It's just a bit "dirty" - and it seems like I should be able to define what my day is.
I think the interpretation is all in the EncoreViewer software, which does not allow you to specify a day or date or time. I think it just takes those values off your computer. EncorePro2 is usually not worth the extra effort and can be coaxed to change time scales.
Its all a bit confusing to me which device keeps track of what time zone you are in. It's got to be the computer, but that is a really lame way to do it. Then again little of this is done for us the users - it's mostly for DME's and clinicians who couldn't really care less.

Re: Setting the Clock on the System One
I'm not completely sure about the System One machines because I have not had to "upgrade" yet but Respirionics has never allowed users to access the clock in any of the previous machines. The clock chips do not appear to be very good ones because the constantly loose time. To set the clock on all the machines up to the PR1 it took a "sleep Link" card and cable which plugged into the memory card slot and then a diagonstic program to access the motherboard. The program allows you to set the clock, calibrate the pressure, enter ther serial number, and read the error logs. You can understand why Respirionics might not want you to have the equipment to do this. Generally the answer is that only a repair facility or thye factory can reset the clock. I have heard that there are a few DME's that have the ability to set the clock but I have never found one. It is set to GMT time and your computer and Encore program converts to your time zone.

Re: Setting the Clock on the System One
I made the adjustment in EncorePro to DST on Sunday and now it thinks events reported by the machine are one hour earlier (e.g. it thinks I turned the machine off @ 5:30 a.m. and not 6:30 a.m.). What's up with that? If the machine is on GMT, that shouldn't happen. The DST adjustment should work. Shouldn't it?
On the other hand, it will correct itself in the fall.

I did that on mine, I think I'll uncheck the box and see what happens.
