I dont want to get Excited too early...but....
I dont want to get Excited too early...but....
Two nights in a row I did MUCH better on my Nasal mask then I have on the Full Face Mask. While struggling for almost two weeks with that full face mask, I made the switch to the nasal and here are the last two nights.
Hours of use 4.2 (oops, I wrote the 30 day here. Yesterday it was 5.0) Sorry!
AHI per Hour 3.0
Leak Rate 28
Hours of use 5.1
AHI Per Hour 1.4
Leak 29
I have NOT seen those results with the Full Face mask, so I will say, I believe that I am headed in the correct path. I can only hope that it keeps getting better.

I am feeling ok. Still tired but I think historically, I am always tired from the job I do.
Thanks for asking!

For some of us, feeling ok is a step up! If your therapy is just starting to come right then it may take a while before you feel GREAT! But keep plugging away and I'm sure it'll happen!
It's 1:02 am here... I'm going to bed!

Excellent news, Kelly! And I'm guessing you are wearing the nasal longer, too. How's the anxiety about going to bed? better?

Is your anxiety less with the nasal pillows? Glad to hear that they are working for you. I know I like my nasal pillows.

Ys, the nasal pillows are not stressful. I cant even feel the air going in my nose. I had to pull them out because I thought maybe the machine was not working, but it was. Also, my machine is very very quite. I can even take deep breaths though my nose with them and the air. Its a different world not having your face covered. I am so thankful that there are different masks because the full face caused a great deal of stress, but its my fault too since I asked for them. But, when one knows NOTHING about this new world one is uneducated about options of such. Its not like there is a class for this kind of thing.
Thanks everyone

Congrats on your success. Hopefully with this mask and continued good numbers, your road will be less bumpy.
It does get better and it does get easier but it is quite a journey till you get there.

That's great. I hope you continue to see improvement! I went with the nasal pillows from the start, because I can't stand having my face covered. Even with just the nasal mask, I felt like I was being suffocated! Keep up the good work!
Re: I dont want to get Excited too early...but....
It's good to see the change in mask style is addressing one of the major triggers of the bedtime anxiety! As useful as FFM are for addressing certain problems---if they cause the kind of stress you were having, they are creating far more problems than they're solving.Kahfree wrote:rosiefrosie wrote:Is your anxiety less with the nasal pillows? I'm glad you are giving the nasal pillows a try.
I'm even happier for you that you are finding the nasal pillows are not stressful. It is amazing, isn't it, how having the air blowing directly into your nose makes it harder to feel the air than having the air blowing onto your nose?
Here's hoping that you keep moving forward in terms of time you use the mask, quality of your sleep, and how well you feel during the day ...
And sending you a special hope and prayer that you will NOT be joining us in the insomnia club in the future!
