Grandpa Got Hosed Up By A CPAP

Post by mikemoran » Tue Dec 20, 2005 9:11 am

Grandpa got hosed by a CPAP
Staying over at our house Christmas Eve
You can say there is no such thing as therapy
But as for me and Grandpa we can breath

He’d been snoring up a train wreck
Mom was ready to make him go
But that spare puffer was handy
So I strapped him in a mask and made it blow

When he awoke on Christmas Morning
It was kind of hard to explain
The red strap marks on his forehead
And why his nose was wet from a pouring rain

Grandpa got hosed by a CPAP
Staying over at our house Christmas Eve
You can say there is no such thing as therapy
But as for me and Grandpa we can breath

Now we are not as terrified of Grandpa
He is not his old cranky self
He thought alien abduction
Then decided attack by perverted elf

Might be bad to blow up Grandpa
Who knows what effects might linger
Don’t want to be that first Grandkid
Who actually goes and pulls Grandpa’s finger

Grandpa got hosed by a CPAP
Staying over at our house Christmas Eve
You can say there is no such thing as therapy
But as for me and Grandpa we can breath

Now the hose is on the headboard
Nasal mask lying there in wait
All the Grandkids gather round him
Hoping maybe Grandpa will over-inflate

Maybe overdid the pressure
On our geriatric balloon
One of the kids poked at Grandpa
Sent him whizzing and flying around the room

Grandpa got hosed by a CPAP
Staying over at our house Christmas Eve
You can say there is no such thing as therapy
But as for me and Grandpa we can breath

Thanks, Mike, won't be able to get this song out of my head. Sort of like a Saturday Night Live song parody I heard years ago. Now every time I hear the real one I sing the parody! (revealing contents not suitable for family site).

Grandpa Got Hosed Up By A CPAP

Post by LilBuckaroo » Tue Dec 20, 2005 12:06 pm

Mike,

I never liked the original version of that song, but this one is a "keeper".

A DJ got fired for playing the original for hours on end. I can't remember where, when or how many hours that he played it. I think he did it in "protest".

Did you ever think of doing this kind of thing as a professional?

Keep them coming. We need some levity with this "problem" that we have.

Merry Christmas to you and all of the rest of the Moran clan.

I was browsing CNET headlines today (yes, I'm a tech geek, it's my job), and I found this:

USA Today technology columnist Kevin Maney predicts that sometime in 2006, "Steve Jobs will probably get hosed."

____________________
Now, of course Mr. Maney is referring to the likelihood that Mr. Jobs will not have as good a year in 2006 as he enjoyed in 2005, but I wonder if there's something else afoot.
Do you think Steve Jobs isn't sleeping well at night?
Do you think perhaps he needs to be tested?
And why when I read that little quote did I suddenly start hearing the tune referenced in this thread?
Not everything that counts can be counted, and not everything that can be counted, counts.

I don't know? Is Steve Jobs your grandpa?
