If you have insurance at work it fills in. Anyway it is provincial -each one is different just like each insurance company is.

I'm glad to hear you'll have a machine soon and it will make a difference. Depending on how bad your OSA is don't be surprised if after the first few days of feeling great things start to drop somewhat and settings need to be tweaked. This happened to me and when we looked at the data, sure enough the treatment made a big improvement, but things were still not well controlled. Now after 2 weeks of monitoring, careful data review and logging how I felt each morning I'm feeling great and the numbers are good; last night my AHI was 1.9 and I slept for 7.7hrs.

I got very lucky with the company I went through to get my equipment, the RRT has been very helpful and understood how badly I wanted to optimize my treatment. She helped me work with herself and the lab and as of yesterday the sleep doc is ready to write a permanent prescription to replace the trial one I am currently on. Since I kind of took over adjustments based on my data, I was asked to provide pressure details of what I want the prescription to indicate which kind of surprised me. I guess everyone, including the sleep doctor, felt comfortable with the amount of effort and care I took in fine tuning my own settings. I started out with a pressure of 13 and found that I actually need a pressure of 18 to keep things under control, especially if I use the EPR which does help at the higher pressures.

I'm hoping that you won't have to resort to pushing the systems as had as I have, but when I started with an AHI of 119, and it only dropping to between 17 and 43 when I first started treatment, I now know I did quite literally have one foot in the grave and I just wanted to feel better as quick as possible. Now after 2 weeks, and the last 5 days with the same settings and seeing an AHI of between 1.9 and 4.1 I do feel like a new person. I'm sleeping well and my wife is happy to see me returning to the man she married - older, wiser, and now full of hot air .

Don't be afraid to push your equipment supplier and make sure they are helping as much as possible to make sure you get your treatment fine tuned if things are not what you expect.
