New REMstar M Series

Post by SleepDaddy » Sat Dec 17, 2005 10:29 am

Does anyone know (or have an educated guess) when Respironics plans to release the new REMstar M Series machines?

Also do you know if it will come in both a regular CPAP and an Auto model?

I noticed that the version depicted on the website is marked as a REMstar Pro and it shows a version with and without a Humidifier.

The other thing I notice is that it does not appear to have a display of any sort, which makes me wonder how to adjust the various features the on the machine.

Any additional insights would be greatly appreciated....I am doing a little research before obtaining my first CPAP machine and am trying to decide if I might want to rent a model through my DME and wait until this new model comes out to make a purchase.

This is from a few weeks back:

My first question is where is the LCD display?
I bet it's under a lid in front of the three buttons. Looks like the lid opens forward.

Thanks O.

I did a search for REMstar M Series and didn't come up with much info, so I appreciate the help.

I am informed there will be a limited release this month, full release in January.

Oddly, threads dealing with this new product seem to disappear from this forum.

I don't think they disappear, I think they're just hard to find:

Have you seen the new REMstar???

JP,

ALL the threads that I have seen on cpaptalk are still here. What have you seen that has disapeared... maybe it was on the ASAA forum?

Man you are obsessed! Give it a rest already! This is CPAPTALK, not Talk about Sleep, not Sleep Net and not the ASA forum. Its obvious you have a beef with them, but really, most of us here don't CARE!

I personally don't like the new style, I really don't see it as a step forward. Covering displays, covering the humidifier tank, seems to me that all of that would make it difficult to use daily.

Bob,

Not on therapy yet? Don't stress, if a post bothers you, just ignore it. It does no good to make a big deal about it.

Are you considering a new Respironics machine or are you already an owner of one?

Bob,

WOW! I was just suggesting that JP might have seen it on the ASAA forum and that is why he can't find it here.

Sounds like you need to give yourself a rest.

BTW... since when are you the spokesman for "most of us"

I don't know who Bob is, but really, Wader, your comment sure looked like a gratuitious dig to me:

"What have you seen that has disapeared... maybe it was on the ASAA forum?"

Oh well.

RG, I have noticed posters claiming that posts "disappear" on this forum. I have not seen it and think that this claim is inaccurate and may be an attempt to besmirch the image of this forum. Bob, is obviously a big time defender of the ASAA forum, there are a number of them that get offended every time I say Boo. This is just another example of how my remarks are perceived by the ASAA folks differently than the same remarks by others. I did not intend any offense toward the ASAA in my original remarks on this thread and I have no desire to see this thread turned into another "me against them" discussion.

That being said... you know me... I will continue to respond as long as folks choose to post, suggesting that my intentions where other than I've stated.

Sincerely,

A very disingenuous statement, imho. Of course you intended that. Your real wish came true.

There are several very good message boards supporting sleep apnea patients. This is one of them. ASAA is another.
