Do folks generally recommend covering ClimateLine w snuggle hose?
Does the former preclude the latter, or does the latter enhance the former?

Re: ClimateLine hose & Snuggle hose?
I understood that you shouldn't cover a climateline hose as it could overheat, but please correct me if that's wrong.
I see here that some use a climateline in winter and a hose cover in the warmer months.
Cheers,
xena

Re: ClimateLine hose & Snuggle hose?
You can cover the climateline tubing with the slimline wrap:
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... -wrap.html
It doesn't hinder the operation of the climateline tube.
Even a thin fleece cover should be fine.
The sensor at the end of the hose is how the temperature is measured, so the hose will be heated less, because the cover keeps some of the heat in.

Re: ClimateLine hose & Snuggle hose?
Resmed says you should not, but I and at least one other CPAP user I know do it every night without incident.
Without the cover, I found that the hose stayed cool enough to be annoying if it landed on my neck when I shifted position at night. With the fleece cover, I never notice the hose anymore!

Re: ClimateLine hose & Snuggle hose?
I use thin fleece cover on mine and I have since I started on CPAP 2 months ago. No issues..and no problems with my climateline thus far.

I've been using it this way for at least three months now with no issues.
Re: ClimateLine hose & Snuggle hose?
I think people generally do what they want with their equipment. From what I have read, cpap users like the feel of a hose cover over the plastic. I certainly cannot disagree with this unless the cover makes the hose too heavy. A problem can arise with the use of a hose cover on the climateline because the hose ending has a mask temperature sensor for the purpose of monitoring output of the "system" which includes the PAP device, the humidifier and the climateline. As long as room temperature, humidity and system thermal responses don't allow the temperature at the mask sensor to become too high, everything is good. Unfortunately, it has been reported several times at this site that the system generates an error message when one of the system parameters, probably the mask temperature sensor, is beyond its set limit and stops functioning as expected by the user. We are only informed that an error with the hose has occurred. The hose cover for whatever reason, and lack of air conditioning in the heat of the summer would present themselves as a thermal load that is not considered in the algorithm used by Resmed engineers. I would think this would be easy to remedy and we could continue to do whatever we want with our therapy. So to answer your question, do what you want and if you get an error message, let your system cool down and restart. Sorry for the vent.

I put a snuggy on mine sense the weather has gotten cold. I have had not problems as of yet with over heating. I wish it was warmer though.
