I think their new machines are vpap auto s 25 (that is with the themed burst of air for centrals.

And a complex sv which establishes your breathing pattern and monitors every breath and constantly readjusts itself to maintain the initial recorded breathing pattern.

I HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT IT> it seems to work on a cpcp mode. I like bipap.

My other concern is if people who have no apnea or sleep problems have a varied breathing pattern that is natural. To keep one breathing the exact same way all night might not be natural. I read a few review from people who did not like the sv as it was constantly disturbong their sleep as it ramped up and down.

When I was living at 7000 feet, my ipap was 18 and that force of air did give me leak problems. I now live at a lower altitude and the ipap is 14. (The machine adjusts for altitude changes.)

But what do you think of 50 centrals a night. It seems like a lot of disturbed sleep to me, but that is what the sleep clinic sent me on my way with.

Curiosity is getting the best of me. Would those of you having this problem w/the VPAP Auto 25 take a look at the bottom of VPAP and post the serial number for us, please?

The first four digits of the serial number should be the year it was manufactured. The next two numbers are usually the month it was manufactured.

No problems with my VPAP auto25 for one year and then one night while trying to go to sleep it started to pulse with greatly increased pressures. Took it off and tried to restart a couple of times times to no avail. I thought that I would have to call for service in the morning and then I tried resetting to factory defaults. Had to reset EPAP and PS of course, but it worked! It has been working fine since (2 weeks plus now)

No clue what that was about. Any ideas?

Thanks, Brigid. You VPAP Auto 25 was manufactured in April 2009. Those first six numbers of the serial number are the only six numbers we need to post to determine if those w/the problem were from the same "lot" or batch.

I am just about to get the same unit. However did anyone have to rent theirs for 10 months? This is what my insurance wants me to do. The price I am getting from the supplier is 132 per month my portion which is 20%. Plus i have to fulfill my obligation of the deductable. I called the insurance company and not one person can tell me what the insurance pays with the discounts. These machines are seen on the internet for under 2K. I see a big rip off coming. Can someone please explain to me what they had to do to receive their cpap.

Are you in the USA or elsewhere?? The Resmed VPAP Auto 25 has been replaced by the Resmed S9 VPAP Auto. They want you to purchase an outdated VPAP Auto??? At full price??? I would sure be protesting that!!!

Most insurances in the USA do require some form of "rent to own" purchase of an xPAP. Anywhere from 3 to Medicare's 13 months. So that is not unusual. It is pretty much SOP.

I'd call your insurance and ask what local DME CPAP providers they are contracted with. Hopefully you actually have the option of more than just this one as that gives you more bargaining/negotiating room.

Actually, the VPAP Auto 25 is one heck of a good device. BUT - it was introduced in July 2008. The S9 VPAP Auto was just introduced earlier this year. I have the VPAP Auto which is the predecessor of the VPAP Auto 25. The S9s are an almost complete "redo" of the S8s (which my VPAP Auto and the VPAP Auto 25s were). New body style, new LCD data access, new humidifier, new data reporting system (digital camera type data card using standard USB card reader), additional data reporting, .....

Hmmm, I have a 25 and I have had flawless operation for 2 and a half years, it is in the shop right now because it was beginning to make a chirping noise that I suspect is the beginning of bearing issues? I have an old vpap auto that i used for 5 years, Im wondering now whats up cause I to have experianced mask hydroplaning, (funny) or blowing off. I wish i would have checked it when this occured. see if the pressures had changed. The old vpap is still working fine.
