I, too, have enjoyed many pleasant chats with you, snug, padacheek and many others. Those that have chatted with me would spot the imposter right away because they know how I interact and behave. But some others that don't know me very well wouldn't necessarily be able to do that -- and my imposter can be very unpleasant and rude, very far from any behavior I would present. I watched the fakes say some pretty awful things, but found it amusing because the regulars in the room knew it wasn't me and made sure they told any newcomers -- that is not Madalot. Thanks to those that were in last night for doing that -- it made it a lot easier for me to stomach.Robespierre wrote:I've enjoyed several pleasant chats with Madalot, snug, padacheek and others. I know there are still a few that are trying to minimize the problem and insulting those of us that are upset by what's happening. But in the end, if you break away all the different opinions about whether it's that big a problem and what, if anything, should be done, you get to the bottom line and real truth -- this is identify theft, pure and simple. It's behavior that is intended to harass and emotionally harm another person - a behavior that no one in their right mind would tolerate in the real world, but many so easily shrug off because this is the internet.
Robespierre -- I appreciate your saying that you've had many pleasant chats with me and others in the room. That's what it's there for. I have enjoyed it immensely in recent weeks because it has allowed me to forge some wonderful friendships that I would have otherwise missed out on. I shouldn't have to stop participating here or in chat because one idiot with an obvious problem is hell bent on ruining it. He should be made to leave -- not those of us that use the board and chat room with courtesy, decency, honor and respect for others.
