Swift starts whistling after a while

Post by itsme » Wed Dec 07, 2005 10:54 pm

Anyone have this problem? I use the ramp feature to fall asleep and then somewhere close to my level (10) a high pitched whistle seems to start. This has happened both nights so far (had it only two days). Am I doing something wrong? Having trouble identifying whats causing it, but its somewhere in the nose piece, fidgeting with it makes the noise stop momentarily.

thanks

My pressure is 9. I've never noticed this while awake but last week I made an audio recording of myself while sleeping and I did notice a distinct, high-pitched whistle/whining sound for a while that night. Kind of strange.

check to see if the end plug is leaking....a very common problem.
Just wrap it with teflon plumbers tape if you even think there is a chance its leaking.

Definitely counds like a leak in the plug or where the hose connects. I have the Swift too and my pressure runs up as high as 10 and no whistling sounds. Very quiet actually.

Either that or you need to teach it the words...

I was thinking the same thing!

Another source of whistle (with me) is if I have the barrel rotated so the pillows aren't quite properly against my nares. It'll be OK for a while, then the whistle begins, like the worst nose whistle you've ever heard!

I've also had the connection between my APAP and humidifier whistle.

If they can't remember the words, I wish they'd just hum instead .

The only time my swift has made noise is when there was a leak somewhere. Sometimes its where the humidifier connects to the cpap. Good luck

This happens to me, and every time the culprit is the sliding lock doohickey that keeps the pillows on. If that slider is a little bit on one side or the other I would hear the whistle. Try moving the slider slightly from side to side and see if the noise stops.
