Encore/SmartCard Date & Time

Post by Guest » Wed Dec 07, 2005 6:02 pm

Does anyone know where Encore or the blower gets the date and time. Mine is off by about 20 min. in the reports and I'm wondering if it can be corrected. I am using a RemStar Auto and Encore Pro 1.5.

Thanks for any info.

SmartCard Date and Time

Post by Jerry69 » Wed Dec 07, 2005 7:19 pm

Guest,

I have no idea how to change the date and time of day on the Encore Pro 1.5 Report printouts.

When I took my card to the sleep doc and got reports from him, they time was off by 3 hours.

When I got Encore Pro 1.5 and a card reader and read my card at home, the time on the Encore Pro reports was correct. I can't see any way to set the time of day in Encore Pro 1.5, so I don't know why the time of day now seems correct on the reports.

Sorry, but maybe my input will help someone diagnose the problem.

Jerry

Here's what I've been told:

The machines (Respironics) have a cllock chip that is set to GMT. When the data is downloaded from the card into your database, it (Encore Pro) adjusts the time to the time zone in your computer.

Guest,

BTW, mine is also losing about a minute or more a month....and it's about 16 minutes slow now. I was told by Respironics that it would have to be sent in to be fixed.....which I will be doing before the warranty is up.

My Auto went crazy a few months ago and lost the date, that is it went back to 1/1/98. I called Respironics and they said the only way to change the date or time is to send it back to them through the company I purchased it from (cpap.com). The whole process will take at least three weeks.

I'm still living in 1998

So the answer is there is no way to do this without returning the unit.

Thanks to all for the information.

I was afraid it might be a problem.
This CPAP is controlled by cllock clock. Nothing can go roung..uh...wroung...uh...oh well! it's a good clock and every few hundred years it will actually be correct.

Kind of makes you wonder how the rest of the program is handled.

Thanks again

Doesn't it, though?! Between the clock and their crazy web site, it does make you wonder if they've actually got the technical know-how to create a system to accurately measure AHIs ?? Hmmmmm.

Encore/SmartCard Date & Time

The Remstar XPAPs have a Lithium battery on the circuit board - same as
your PC to retain time and your pressure/ramp/Flex settings when the
machine is unplugged. Eventually this battery is drained down to a point
where the stored data and time is lost. Respironics makes a cable that
looks like a memory card with a serial cable attached to it. This is used by
their service / calibration centers to reset the clock and pressure settings
using a digital manometer and the clock in the PC. The battery could
be replaced by the technically inclined but resetting the clock requires the
special cable and some Respironics utility software. I doubt that they would
sell these parts to CPAP.COM for sale to us end users.
