CPAP Aromatheraphy
Re: CPAP Aromatheraphy
I was reading a reply here where someone put Distilled Vinegar in the Humidifier for congestion, I might try that as I have congestion problems and I might try the Apple Cider Vinegar ( A couple Tbl spoons ) and see if it helps the Congestion. I can't see where the apple cider vinegar would be Harmful to the Machine or myself as I drink it Daily.

DannyPh If you are still around - - - I tried the vinegar
--- Your concentration was a little STRONG... I used: Apple Cider / Red Wine & Malt Vinegar and Liked the "Malt the best and had a REAL CLEAN tank the following morning!"

Re: CPAP Aromatheraphy
A friend gave me some little sachets of dried lavender flowers for Christmas, and I put one on my bedside table near my CPAP intake and it was lovely! Lavender is one of my fave scents, and to be wrapped in it all night, so to speak, was awesome. I also found myself feeling congested and opened up a Vick's bottle and did the same thing for a nap, put it near my intake, and it did wonders to open up my nasal passages and allow me to breathe normally w/the machine.
I did find that my hose and mask retained a bit of the lavender smell. But as I enjoy the smell, that really isn't a problem.
I used to put perfume on at night, or spray my bed sheets w/perfume because one of my fave pleasures is lovely scents and I enjoy going to sleep surrounded by my favorite smells. The CPAP effective makes that a useless endeavor, but the aromatherapy w/the intake is a nice touch.
I, obviously, don't have a problem w/scents. Except I read in another thread where a guy's dog let one go in his intake and nearly gassed him to death in the middle of the night. That doesn't sound fun.
Great thread, btw!
