o... forgot to say!! changed to Nasal pillows... much comfortable but is this a radical change in how i feel??
Re: Has someone had the same problems...???
I don't know why you should feel dizzy and disoriented. Doesn't seem like it should go along with CPAP use. Are you able to check your nightly data, how many AHI's and AI's? Don't know that nasal pillows would cause a radical change. Did this happen at the same time? Did you feel this way before CPAP? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get a feel for what's going on. In any case, it's not normal and you should talk to your Doc.
Good Luck.
Good Luck.

You might be mouth breathing and losing your therapy out of your mouth. Try a night or two back on the other mask and see how you feel. I would also check with the doctor about what is going on to make sure it isn't another health issue.

I had a lot of dizziness at first until my ears got used to the pressure changes.
BUT, you should always check out dizziness with your doctor--could be a sign of something else more serious.

When I have had dizziness after awaking, and feeling fuzzy I found I had seeded a sinus infection. All the air circulation if you have any type sinus problems can cause you some problems till you get used to it and find out how to treat the congestion. I still don't have a good solution that always works. swede

Hi. Do the sensations you describe happen most at a particular time or randomly day or night? If they happened only upon waking I'd be wondering about the effectiveness of the treatment. Some have already given you some good things to consider so that you can pinpoint any potential treatment issues or other health issues.
I just have one additional thought that's a long shot, but just in case, there's no way your vent is getting blocked while you sleep is there? I just remember when I was new here someone saying they had to plug some holes in their mask because the plugs were missing. They were covering vents thus rebreathing exhaled air all night. I've always used an extra strap to stabilize my masks. One time I woke and and found the strap had slipped during sleep and the vent was bound tightly by my strap. Live and learn.
Best wishes resolving your symptoms.

Re: Has someone had the same problems...???
When you say "dizzy" do you mean:
Lightheadedness and/or a feeling that you might faint?
Or a sensation that you (your body) is spinning around while the outside world is stable?
Or a sensation that the outside world is spinning around while you aren't spinning?
And does the dizziness last for just a few minutes or all day long? Are you "dizzy-free" between spells?
Many things can cause someone to feel "dizzy", but it's very important to be able to describe the kind of "dizzy" you mean since that can be a key to figuring out what might be causing the problem.
And it's possible that CPAP air could be getting into your ears through your Eustation tubes and that might create a sense of being "dizzy". But there are way too many other things that might be going on as well.
Report the "dizziness" to your primary care doctor and your sleep doctor. Be sure to indicate what kind of "dizziness" you're experiencing, how intense it is, how long it lasts, and whether you have residual dizziness between the bad spells.
