Swift FX™ For Her Nasal Pillow vs Opus 360 - your opinion?

Post by Phoenixpuppy » Mon Nov 22, 2010 5:55 pm

If you're using the Swift FX any feedback, especially if you switched from Opus 360. I'm using the Opus 360 and while it's working better for me than the nasal mask I have, I'm thinking it could be even better. I notice there's no tube anchoring at the top and wonder if that's a problem. Does the hose swivel in front?

I have used both. The Opus has more places to anchor the hose, you can move the velcro strap to the side instead of the top, and swivels better than the Swift but I find the swift pillow to be more comfortable. I use the Swift for her with the very small pillows.

I started with an Opus 360 but found the side straps very uncomfortable (I sleep on my front). I then switched to the Swift FX and after a few modifications found it to be a vast improvement.
My problems with the Swift FX were.
The hose tended to pull the mask when I moved, and I prefer it going over my head.
The rear band moved all over the place.
The air blast from the air vents made a lot of noise when it hit anything.
After solving these problems I find it very comfortable.
You can see my modifications in the post

The air diffuser to stop the air blast can be found by searching for "air diffuser"

I hated the Opus. I could not get it to seal and found it very uncomfortable.

I love the Swift FX. It is very comfortable but definitely needs modifications, as Greg points out.

My mods:
1. Velcro in teh back strap to reduce slippage
2. A hose hanger to hold the hose up. This reduces the drag from the heavy slinky hose and points the vents away from ME.
