It does take awhile, newbie. Hang in there.
If we knew what kind of mask, machine, and pressure you use, some us could come up with suggestions.
Right now we are just kind of 'flying blind'.
Different equipment causes problems in different ways; but hardly anything can't be solved.
If you can fill in your machine, etc. under profile in the user control panel (up and to the left),
we can get started. Welcome.

Tell us more, ncgirl741. The user control panel for this forum lets you list your CPAP equipment and append it to every post. What would be especially helpful is to know the model machine you are using and how much pressure it is set for. You will get lots of advice, but some of the tricks depend on these things.

I don't have any experience with that type of mask. I just posted these for another person. I don't know if a change in mask would help or not.

I used that mask for two weeks. I had to change because it irritated the bridge of my nose. You just have to give it time. Try wearing it doing something else, like reading, etc.

It sounds like you might need to adjust your headgear a little to help get a better seal. I'm sure other users may have other ideas, too.

There must be something very wrong with the way your mask fits. 7 cm is about the lowest pressure that is prescribed. Mask leaks get harder to control at higher pressures, but 7 should work for almost everyone. If you got the mask from a durable medical equipment supplier (or DME, as we call them around here) that your doctor sent you to, they should help you get it to fit correctly, without leaking, or help you find another mask that fits you better. I don't know anything about your particular mask, so I won't make suggestions about how to get it fitting better, but there should be an answer to the problem.

Also, make sure that your face and the silicone membrane are clean. I have found that being a little lazy about either results in waking up due to leaks.
